So am I the only one confused about the floor outbreaks on the Dyson type planet from halo wars 1? Like there was never any back story on how the flood was there or how it nearly controlled the entire serfice pf the planet. And how it didn’t spread via cov. Ships is beyond me. Plus that it can take control and fly forerunner shi and seen in the forerunner flood war. If anyone has any details about this I’d like to know
It’s implied the flood crashed there during a battle with the forerunners. Thus why you see crashed forerunner ships on various maps. The planet’s defenses kept the flood from spreading downwards toward the eco-sphere. As for why it didn’t spread by the Covenant, they were apparently quite careful on traveling from the surface to the eco-sphere. Plus the flood could only infect wildlife there and thus had no proper intelligence to go after ships.
How they got there that makes sense. I mean they did get into the eco-sphere but very little so that makes sense. They have proto grave minds and how they didn’t get off planet still isn’t very to lore for the floor I mean in halo 2 they got off world and even to High Charity and completely took over the city and even later bringing it to the ark and trying to infect earth. Yes they had an established grave mind but even in halo ce the proto grave mind attempted to stop the Pillar of Autumn from destroying the ring. Just connections that should have been planned out a bit better thx tho

You’re welcome, though the proto-gravemind from CE was killed by Covenant special ops shortly after the chief left. It never tried to stop the destruction of the ring.
