So i bought a physical copy of halo wars ultimate edition for xbox one, and it comes with a halo wars definitive edition code. I do not have my xbox one with me, but i figured i could redeem the definitive edition code and play it on PC since its a ‘play anywhere’ title. Does anyone know how to download definitive edition on PC once you redeem it? because in the store app it doesnt say anything about downloading it, it just has a message that says this is part of a bundle.

Thats what i figured you had to do, but its not showing up in my games library. Is it possible that you have to install/load it on the xbox one before it shows up on the PC store app?

Don’t think that’s the case, should be ready for download on the PC. Could you be signed into another account on your Win 10 device/store?
If you don’t have it already, try downloading the Halo app, it is possible you could start the HW:DE download from there.
I checked the windows store, and there seem to be two results for HW, one of them just says it is part of the bundle as you mentioned, but you might be able to start the download from the other one, try this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/halo-wars-definitive-edition/9nblggh5wlr0

Yeah, having the same issue too. I also got the HW2: UE Physical, and I can’t find the HW: DE on my library too, same account and everything when I redeemed it on my xbox one. The store says its bundled only so I suspect that the store was programmed to allow you to download HW: DE if you got HW2: UE Digitally. So with HW: DE not being released standalone for awhile, we physical owners are in a jam on getting our windows 10 copies till there’s a fix on the store or the standalone is released for everyone.
Im speaking on chat to Microsoft and they are telling me that if you bought Halo Wars 2 physically, your Halo Wars DE digital code will NOT be Play Anywhere. Its ONLY for people who bought Halo Wars 2 digitally.

The big question then is why the hell that isn’t in the FAQ? Seems like the sorta thing that should be there.
Yeah I fell into that trap too with the physical copy. SUCKS!
But physical copy is a code which you download, so that makes it a download copy.
Also, if I bought the PC version, then the version i get should be on the PC too then yes?
Have no mods bothered to see this topic? FAQ needs updating before you get a load of angry customers who feel decieved.

can confirm that its now downloadable, but i had to go through the hw2 bundle in the store in order for it to say install, going to “my library” or directly to the definitive edition in the store didnt show install options.
