Halo Wars and Halo Wars 2 should be the same forum

Should Wars and Wars 2 discussions be on one forum? Seems out of place here and I feel like neither game is big enough to stand on their own. Just a thought.

There may be a seperate forum created for the HW1 remaster when it finally gets released, but until then HW is considered a classic game and this is the right forum for it. The HW2 forum is for discussion and feedback on the previous and upcoming betas

Good to know. Thanks!

…Yet whenever someone wants to make a thread about Halo Wars, they make it on the Halo Wars 2 forum… This forum is flooded with Halo 3 and little else. It is completely understandable to make a Halo Wars thread in the Halo Wars 2 forum. No one that cares would see the thread if put here. Halo 3 is obviously the most popular “classic halo game”, and thus it has infected this forum with nothing but utter Halo 3 babble. Just look at all the Halo 3 threads here. Do you see how far the termites have spread and how long and well they have dined? I daresay we need a separate forum for Halo 3. It is the most logical conclusion one can come to. Never be a spectator of unfairness. This abundance of Halo 3 (leaving little room for anything else, let alone Halo Wars) is indeed unfair.

I try to deny myself any illusions or delusions, and I think that this perhaps entitles me to try and deny the same to others, at least as long as they refuse to keep their fantasies to themselves. The idea that these forums do not need improvement is indeed a fantasy. The organization (or lack thereof) of these forums affects all of us.

I am sorry if I am being very blunt with my discontentedness, but there can be no progress without head-on confrontation. I do not know if there are any strings you can pull (as your forum rank does not specify your actual position), but if you can I would compel you to.

I never said that the forums don’t need improvement, there’s plenty of things I would like to see changed and have asked to be changed (there’s actually a thread pinned in general Discussion where you can give feedback right now).

There was a point before the site re-design of 2014 that all the older games were split out into their own spaces, but they had very little activity between them. With the release of new games like Halo 4, 5, the Spartan series, Forge, Halo Channel, etc, there are a lot more forums now which in turn means more work for the moderators. As the franchise continues to grow there will be other forums added in the future and likely some retired / merged as necessary.

Splitting out the classic forums again isn’t something I see happening - these are games are are no longer in full support or sustain. Although Classic may appear active, it’s really just the product of merging the older games together. You know, if everyone who posted in the HW2 forum about HW1 made there posts here instead, it probably would split up the Halo 3 topics a little

And I never asserted that you were content with the forums either. Yet if there was more of an incentive (read: more people complaining) to reorganize the forums in a more beneficial way, we would be enjoying a great many more results. What I am trying to do is to simply spark a fire that might bring about some change. I had already made a thread about this very topic. I was unaware of a feedback thread, so thank you for alerting me to that.

What I am advocating for is to create a separate forum for Halo 3. Not go back to how it was with every game having its own forum. It would make this place much more friendly to non-Halo 3 content. Not only that, but it would solve the problem of people posting Halo Wars threads in the Halo Wars 2 forum. Even if that hypothesis proves to be incorrect, the removal of Halo 3 from this forum would make the justification of moving threads here from the Halo Wars 2 forum much easier. Complaints (at least mine) would cease. Notwithstanding those complaints, I will put my trust in the hands of whomever it is runs these forums for now. Yet at the same time, optimistic is not something I would describe myself as.

Again, I would never advocate splitting all the games into separate forums like it was before. I see the obvious maleficent consequences that course of action could wreak. And yes, it is true that if everyone who wanted to make a Halo Wars thread made it in this forum it would split up all the Halo 3 threads. But that is not going to happen unless the creators of the threads in question know that the right people will see what they have to say. I am no expert website designer, but I know that these problems are soluble. Whatever I have accepted until now as most true has come to me through my senses. But occasionally I have found that they have deceived me, and it is unwise to trust completely those who have deceived us even once. With that in mind, I could be completely wrong about the benefits of creating a separate Halo 3 forum. Nevertheless, I would urge you (or any other moderator) to create a poll about this topic to see what the majority of users think.

Halo Wars and Halo Wars 2 are separate titles. Therefore they have two separate forums.
