Over all I enjoyed halo wars. It had a good story line in my opinion. But with ensemble studios out of business will 343 take on the task or push it aside?
Most likely get pushed aside as it didn’t get much popularity.
I wouldn’t completely rule it out.
Well Microsoft has announced a continuation of one of their rts games. This could be Halo Wars but could also not be Halo Wars. They said that the new rts would be on console and pc so it could rule out Halo Wars unless they are trying to branch out. The reason I mention this is because Microsoft has a huge role in Halo which most people understand. I also feel like Halo Wars 2 would be a very smart decision on 343i’s part because its almost like a cult game. The fan base isn’t super massive but damn are they loyal and dedicated. They literally could go back in time again to previous wars or they could give us the perspective of the Arbiter’s army during the war between all the rebelling groups right now. They can and should make this game because there is a fan base for it and they could possibly pull more people into it based off of how much attention Halo 5 will bring back to the Halo universe.
If there is a sequel I want to see promethians or flood as playable characters
I’ve seen this same thread come back many times in Waypoint over the years… Wars 2 would be very nice but I would imagine that the possibility is very remote at the moment… Maybe if interest in console RTS games magically peaks 343i will reconsider but Wars wasn’t exactly what one might call a critical acclaim… It was underrated, at best, which only means that it was a good game that didn’t raise enough interest or money for the Halo franchise to spark interest in a sequel. Therefore something drastic has to happen to even pave the way for a possibility of Wars 2 and I just don’t see it happening anytime soon. I want it, don’t get me wrong… But I’m also a realist and don’t foresee it happenining, at least not any time soon.

I think it was more that Ensemble, one of the only real chances for RTS on a console, folded after the release of Halo Wars. It was a highly underrated game indeed. It leaves a large gap in my collection. It needs representation on this gen.
Well in my opinion Halo Wars was really awesome. You need good tactics to destroy enemy forces (like in 3v3) when your enemys have Hunters and Vampires and ODST’s.
Would be awesome if there would come a new Halo Wars.
