Halo Wars 2 won't re-install

I’m trying to reinstall Halo Wars 2 since I uninstalled because an update would not install.

I’m using Gamer Tag: Short Stack98
The game is for xBox 1. I bought the electronic copy of the game. After I uninstalled the game, I tried to reinstall it and i get the following message. “Sorry, we can’t launch this; The item you’re trying to use appears to be corrupt. Try uninstalling the and reinstalling it. (0x80070570)”

I tried to delete the saved data so it can reload from the cloud but that did not work. I also deleted my user profile from the console and uploaded it again and that also did not work. I tried everything tech support suggested but there were no fixes on their end.

Please let me know how to get this game to work on my xBox 1 console.

Can you try this for me?

  1. Hit the guide button
  2. Make sure you are the ‘Guide’ tab, looks like the Controller Guide button
  3. Go to ‘Games and apps’
  4. Navigate to ‘Queue’
  5. If there is a partial install trying to happen, cancel it
  6. Try and reinstall again

I still get the following message after canceling the queue when trying to re-install. “Sorry, we can’t launch this: The item you’re trying to use appears to b corrupt. Try uninstalling and reinstalling it. (0x80070570)” Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you are going to have to uninstall and reinstall it unfortunately. It sounds like the patch corrupted the install with a partial install. The only way to get rid of this is to remove it and reinstall it.

That’s the problem. I have already uninstalled the game. It will not reinstall. I need a different way to get it onto the xBox. i only have the electronic version and there is nothing the support team at Microsoft can help with so they sent me here. How do I get a disc for my electronic version so I can try it that way?

Here are a couple things to try.

Clear up left over addons by…

  1. Go to Settings > System > Storage > Manage leftover add-ons and remove anything related to HW2

This one sounds odd, but try it…
2. Go to Settings > Disc & Blu-ray > Persistent storage … then select Clear Persistent storage

Then try to install again.

If these don’t work you may have to factory reset your box, as I’m not sure how to remove something you cannot see/select.

I have a similar the same issue. Followed all the steps you mention, but factory reset isn’t really viable, as I don’t want to have to reconfigure everything on the xbox. It only happens with Halo 2 since the last patch.(all the other games I can uninstall and reinstall without any problems)
