Halo Wars 2 (What I want & I know its a bit late)

I know this maybe a bit late, I’ve been busy with other things in life; but hey it could be added in a free update or dare I say “DLC”. I also want to see your thoughts on what I want. I guess I’ll break it down into categories.

Factions: The first Halo Wars had two factions with three “sub-like-factions” within them; I shouldn’t need to say who they are but it seemed to little and they all played the same. The were two other factions in the game one in campaign the other in Skirmish/ Multiplayer (Rebels and Flood). Some people may want the flood while others say the flood will be under-powered when it comes to fighting vehicles and over-powered when it comes to fighting infantry (because they can just infect them). A way to counter this is as follows:

  • Cheaper units (as they are weaker and some can infect other non-flood infantry) - Cheaper buildings (as they are weaker; can also have most building regenerate health over time. Either this is a base mechanic or a tier “?” upgrade) - *Most Units cost 1-2 population (To allow the player to swarm other plays with mass amounts of weak units)*The Rebels are a bit more interesting, they are pretty much a UNSC faction but with out all out the gear, (they has Snipers in the first Halo wars but I have a feeling the UNSC might have that in Halo Wars 2). A way to counter this is as follows:

  • Units a little cheaper than UNSC but has either less HP or Damage output. - Have a unique unit that can capture UNSC vehicles and/or buildings (Similart to engineers in Command and Conquer). - *Most units move faster since the Rebels may not have heavy gear.*If the UNSC is going to have multiple “sub-like-factions” I want them to play differently. In the first Halo Wars it was Tanks and Air most of the time. Now going on the assumptions Anders and Cutter are playable factions this is what I want added to their play-style:
    Captain Cutter:

  • Infantry does slightly more dame and has slightly more health. - Infantry trains faster. - Infantry can make cover (whether it is over time in defending one place over time or its a “on command ability”. - More infantry types, I.e Marines (Marines Snipers, Rocket, MG) Flamethrowers and Spartans for starters; ODSTs could also be a tier “?” squad not a Marines upgrade. - Less Vehicles as the infantry would be the main of his force.Professor Anders:

  • Has more Aircraft vairiants (Hornet, Hawk, Falcon, Vulture, longsword, etc.). - Cheap cost to transport ground units. - Air Craft cost more but are give a little bit of a “buff” in either air to ground or air to air combat. - Research costs 1.5x more but is twice a quick. - Structure and air unit repair is quicker than other UNSC factions. With

Sargent ForgeDead it was a bit difficult for me to think of a third faction, but I think it should be heavily based on ground vehicles give buffs to them.

The Covenant had the same problems as the UNSC, they all played the same. In the campaign the Covenant had all grunt and all elite squads, but they were know in in MP (excluding one Elite alive in a grunt squad and Suicide grunt squads). I couldn’t think of too much on them; this is some of the things I think Each faction should have:

Brutes:

  • Whole brute squads armed with either spikers or brute plasma rifles. - More brute vehicles as see in Halo 3. - All units take more damage than other covenant factions.Elites:

  • Have whole elite squads armed with plasma rifles. - *Special units can be spec ops elites as seen in Reach.*I would also like to see customisation, in a sense be allowed to make your our emblems and see that emblem in game I.e. on units builds, flags, etc. Maybe have realistic skins for units (Winter, woodland, urban, etc.) I would also love to see huge urban maps and map weather. A forge like mode with community tested maps would be amazing too. Thats all I can think of right now. Feel free to discuss what you want to see or what can/ can not work with what I said I want to see.

I love your ideas, it would be remarkable to see a new and more elaborate level of customization. There definitely needs to be “more” of everything I think.

Having a “rock, paper, scissors” style of unit classification is awesome, but generalizing air, infantry, vehicles makes the game a little boring and too easy to understand. This is absolutely the best composition for an xbox 360 game, similar to base creation and unit production all happening on designated spaces. However, with the Xbox One, I see the chance to make things a bit more elaborate and exciting. Thus involving your points and ideas for customization, deeper variation in factions, etc.

I’m very excited to see what Creative Assembly does with this game, knowing of their giant scale battles of the Total War franchise, I bet we’re in for some fun, new aspects to Halo Wars

SO STOKED

Great ideas.

We might see a variation of this, since it’s creative assemblies, but we don’t know how much work they are going to put into this.

i would love to have a great hero come back.
