Halo Wars 2, The Trinity System breaks the game

I stopped playing Halo Wars 2 about around the time the undefeatable Rush Tactics were around Almost a year ago, I recently Came back to the game to pleasantly find less people rush, but I still hate the Trinity System or whatever you call it, it completely defeats the purpose of Specialized Units, Take the Wolverines for example, they are supposed to be effective against air, but because of the Trinity System they will be obliterated by a full on air assault, you shouldn’t have to build an entire army full of Anti Air to barely stop a full Army of Hornets or Banshees, by having this Trinity System you have to do that, about 5 Wolverines should be able to take those down, it would promote more Diverse Forces instead of this crappy Single Unit Spam everyone does, that’s my thoughts on the Trinity System, I’m sure everyone has their own opinions, I welcome you to voice them, just don’t be a jerk about please

40 pop AA with micro beats mass air. This works before and after the buff to air. Mix marines for better odds and add building killers to push bases.

Mixing marines and building killers can make for a very slow traveling army.

If it gets to the point you cant move your army, then you sat idle too long.

I’ll admit the triangle system has its faults, but it’s not as bad as you make it out to be. There are no “unstoppable” rushes. Additionally you don’t need even close to a full pop of AA to beat mass air. You need a fair amount with other units mixed in.

Why does it always come around to air is op in these topics. Why, dear god, why. I come in for interesting opinions and it’s always the exact same complaint.

As far as I know the trinity system doesn’t apply to counter units, they have special armor types that take less damage from the type they counter.

The trinity or ‘rock-paper-scissors’ system is only in reference to the core units of each type: Marines/Grunts, Warthogs/Mantis/Flamehogs/Marauders, and Hornets/Banshees.

Counter units work differently to that system with damage modifiers etc …

The reason why you have vehicles that counter air is so that if your vehicles are soft-countered by an enemy going air then you can respond with the hard counter of AA without completely switching your production buildings, upgrades etc … Same is true with infantry. However this is not true if you go air, if you commit to air then you are locked in. This is why the best tactic with air is to mass air and surprise your enemy, but after very lengthy back and forth on this topic air is actually more-or-less okay now. The best counter to air is scouting, if all they can do is mass air then all you need to be is ready for it and/or strike first.
