What is the most effective way to start at the beginning of a match? I usually build 1 supply pad followed by 1 generator, 3 supply pads then a barracks and rush grenades on my marines and infantry 1 upgrade in barracks. I usually dont get units from the barracks unless im going to contest the power objectives on the enemy side of the map. when i get my 2nd base i would then get tier 2 and get kodiaks if the opponent is still building infantry. What about you guys? Is there a specific strategy you use?
I normally build 2 supply pads and 2 generators and send one or both squads to center power node. Break one off for supplies close by if there is no danger and build either barracks or armory.
After the power node bring both units closer to another node and supplies. Build spartan or snipers and upgrade buildings. I generally get stronger faster because my units provide security and resources for a second base and a mini base so I can build and upgrade faster. Try it and let me know how it works for you
What I do is build one supply pad and one generator at start, and build one squad of marines. I send one of the starter squads to collect supplies and the other to claim the outpost. I build a generator at the outpost and the other three spots are supply pads. Really, I don’t put any production structures at my starter base at all. I then capture the side power point, and then claim the two slot oupost and build a barracks and supply pad there. If the enemy is showing aggression I build snipers and marines and claim my expansion when possible, though most of the time I’ve already claimed it by the time the barracks is finished at the two slot outpost. All my resources are upgraded and there are two generators and one supply pad at my expansion and then I upgrade my expansion before moving onto tech tier two. Afterwards, I transition to vehicles as I upgrade my tech tiers, but I upgrade my expansion to tier two before moving onto tier three so that I have an economy that can sustain continual aggression. My expansion usually has a garage and armory for upgrade production, while the barracks and supply pad are replaced with garages after infantry level three has been produced.
Off the top of my head I’ve only lost three games out of twenty five and those were due to dumb teammates that wouldn’t expand or show any aggression and just turtle like noobs. I’m not sure why people turtle but claiming expansions quickly is how you win if by nothing else than having a larger economy so that you can continuously attack through attrition and they can’t produce units as fast as you can replace your depleted army.
I honestly think sharing your build isn’t a great thing because then people will copy it and not think of something for themselves. Trial and error makes for the best builds not looking it up on the internet

Beta is almost over and by the time the full game comes out it will be obsolete anyways.
Also, I’ve gotten bored of steamrolling other players and would like some competition in all honesty. I’ve had quite a few games where I was able to steal an opponent’s natural expansion, which is ridiculous. Also, some of my teammates I’ve matched with leave me quite often doing 2v1 battles for most of the match.
