Hello , why can`t you save a skirmish game in halo wars 2?
Is it possible to add this feature?
I’m sure skirmish games aren’t long enough or have that much post-game satisfaction for the game to need the ability to save and quit in the middle of a match and resume later. It’s not worth 343/CA’s effort, unless you’re talking about saving a recording of the match to watch in theater, which is a different matter entirely…
actually im right there with the Post Creator on this one…for me its because i like fawning over my masterful creations and watching the legendary AI try and breach my turtle shell…like when you’ve dominated 90% of the map and left the AI to one little measly corner of the map and hes sending hero unit after hero unit to try and break your siege…or when you’ve got such a beautiful Base and you just wanna preserve it for future fawning…or perhaps when you have a rare level 3 condor gunship and you wanna watch her just shove a 10 foot pole up the -Yoink- of the AI…see i am a command and conquer gamer…red alert 2 and Yuri’s revenge…have THOUSANDS of hours logged on those precious RTS jewels…only a handful of skirmishes were actually worth saving but believe you me…if i lost those saved games i would be insanely pissed and maybe even a little depressed lol so the ability to save your games while probably worth peanuts in the grand scheme of things does hold some merit to those who deem it worthy…just my 2 cents…thank you for listening (err i mean reading but same difference really) to my rant…i hope we can get some good discussions going on this and hopefully something comes out of it
actually Skirmish games will automatically save!
I found this out one day when my Girlfriend got pissy and walked by shutoff my xbox!
If you turn your Xbox off while playing a Skirmish game you can come back hours later, start up HW2 and it will jump you right into your Skirmish game!!
I’ve done this numerous times now after learning from my gf!!
I think this feature was developed specifically to protect against angry women lol

I noticed this “feature” as well, it works so long as its not a “full shutdown”, and you dont load another game. I think in effect its just pausing the game when its “minimized”
While I would also like skirmish saves, its much lower on my wish list then other features. As others have said, games against AI dont usually take that long, and you can use the trick mentioned above if they do and you really want to finish it later.
