Well, I’m not sure if there’s going to be a sequel for awhile… but wanna know something??? In my own opinion, i think Ensemble/Robot should make the sequel, because they started it, and i think they deserve to finish it, you know? Like how Bungie finished their Halo trilogy which they started, and now 343i is starting another trilogy, and hopefully they will stick with it till the end.
I don’t know any 343i employees with an RTS background. so robot should do it, considering they are one of the best RTS developers(they used to be Ensemble; famous for making age of empires).
unfortunately, robot is busy making age of empires 4 I think.

I would rather see them work on a new Age of Empires or Age of Mythology first, unless they get rid of socketed bases in HW2.

How do we know Halo Wars 2 would even be an RTS game? It could be FPS, or even Third-Person. Only throwing it out there. Anyway, I’d prefer another RTS Halo Game, maybe it will follow the fate of the Spirit Of Fire’s crew and it could be set after Halo 4, or 5.

Halo Wars 2 would 100% be an rts. That is common sense. That is like saying Halo 4 will be an rpg.

I haven’t heard anything; to be honest I think they should just keep it as it is.
I mean it was cool and I had some fun with it, but this has the same issue of the Halo 2 remake of the fact that it would take away from the new trilogy.
I think they should wait a long time before thinking of make a new Halo RTS.

That would leave a portion of the Halo fanbase that was introduced to the Halo series by Halo Wars out in the cold. Plus, I don’t think anything could take anything away from the new trilogy.
“Halo Wars 2” has not been confirmed. Everything you see about it is speculation. Just like how we are speculating here in the Halo Wars forum.

I would think only a small amount of people would have got introduced to Halo via Halo Wars (but that doesn’t make your point any less legitimate).
Fact is that Halo Wars is a spin off game, a good one but a spin off none the less.
Also it doesn’t help Microsoft shut down there only RTS studio and 343 is made up of people who seem to be known for FPS.
Only way I could see it happening is if Microsoft hire GPG (as they are doing with AOEO) or Robot.
But Microsoft put 343 in charge of the entire Halo series so it seems to be up to 343 and 343 is I would think stressed out as it is now with working on the new trilogy and Reach to oversee the project.
Now as I said before it still could happen, but I wouldn’t think it would happen within the few years.
It would be pretty cool for a sequel to Halo Wars to include a USB keyboard suited for RTS games. The controller port for xbox 360 is a standard USB 2.0, so MS wouldn’t have trouble making it work.
