Hello,
Currently when I attempt to launch Halo Wars 2 on PC, the game immediately closes again with no error message. I do not play enormously frequently, but have never had issues in the past, nor has any hardware been changed on my system since. The last time I played, everything worked as expected. That was on the 7th of May this year.
Things I have attempted:
- Windows Store apps troubleshooter (Suggested an app reset, that did not help either)
- A reinstall
- Uninstalling / Reinstalling the Halo app
I had a look in the Event viewer to see if I could find details there, and this is reported on every crash:
Unable to start a DCOM Server: Microsoft.HoganThreshold_1.11.2929.2_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe!xgame.App as Unavailable/Unavailable. The error:
“0”

A search through previous topics suggest signing into the Xbox app as a potential fix. As of a few days ago the Xbox app has been rebranded to the “Xbox Console Companion”. I have a feeling this could be related. If that is the case, can a fix be expected soon?
