- OPI think what the game needs most is.
-
Campaign for each playable faction. That’s a genre staple for this type of strategy game, be it StarCraft or Command and Conquer. So if they add Covenant, Covie campaign. If they add Prometheans, Promethean campaign. If they add Flood…Flood campaign.
-
Each campaign longer than a couple of hours.
-
At least 3 playable factions. In other words add either Flood or Prometheans.
-
Scale things up just a little bit to be more like Command and Conquer in terms of scale.
-
Don’t force a unit cap on the game. A next gen console should be able to handle as many units as a PC.
-
If Flood are playable, do the Flood properly. You should get most of your units by infecting either enemy units. I don’t want to see them work like a normal faction where I recruit pure strain forms from my hive. They’re not the Zerg.
BTW I actually think Prometheans would be awesome to do in a campaign. Just because in a strategy game you have the scale to go all out with all the crazy Forerunner technology and machines. You could just go crazy with that faction.
Yeah I agree with your thoughts/wishes.
Besides #5, a unit cap is important in many different ways.
- Unit cap Is important for balancing the game, imagine you could attack with 80 sacrifice banshees - No unit cap scares people, why should I attack with 10 Tanks if I could have 20. And now I have 20Tanks but the enemy could have Hornets, so I need more wolverines… You see what I mean? No unot cap gives the players infinite reasons not to attack. - A super turtle would be absolutly broken, if the atttackers build a huge army with more than 300Hornets the game would crash, or the attackers attack consitantly and the defenders could build a huge army.
According to early leaked news. May not be true, just saying…They said HW2 will take place 20 years before Halo 1. Therefore no Prometheans.
My assumption would be that they will keep the same playable races. They are creating HW2 off the same platform that HW1 was made. Look for similar controls and resource management.
Covenant
-Brute
-Elite
-Prophet
Human

For HW2 they should however nerf covenant. Cov was way to strong.

Could you linke your source?
Problem with some of these is that it will cause issues that were in past FPS halo games
Map voting: causes certain maps to get always chosen while others maps would only be seen in custom games
Pre-game lobby: If you are good with a hero then you should be able to play with them in any map. The problem with this is that people might quit the match before it even started
Most of these seem fine but other ones not so well.
Halo wars 2 needs to have a voting system, or at least a vs AI option that doesn’t include strongholds. Past two games I played both players quit out on me because it is a bad game mode.

Please don’t revive old topics, thanks. There are plenty of active feedback threads available, including the pinned feedback threads at the top of the forums
