Halo Wars 2 needs...

I honestly agree with the more maps thing, after a while it got so repetitive and people knew too much of the maps, especially the 3v3s.

I’ll give you a couple reasons as to why not.

Population limits are set for numerous reasons. But most often it’s very closely related to graphic and processing limitations. If you now put two players on one console, both managing full population armies and going against other opponents, you’re going to run into that limit and it’s going to affect the gameplay. You’re going to end up overloading your hardware. It’s essentially the same reason splitscreen isn’t done in Halo 5. So that the game can reach certain standards of graphic fidelity.

Furthermore, having two players on one screen managing two separate factions and their armies is going to seriously limited your ability to manage because of the now reduced screen real-estate allocated to each player. RTS needs a large field of view; Otherwise, you can’t manage your units effectively.

It would be awesome if you could play as The Flood, even though they are defeated in the Halo Universe. What I’m saying is; more factions!

As much as I like the idea of Creative Assembly making the game, one style that I hope they take influence from is star wars Empire at war because that was almost the perfect style of rts in sci fi genre.

That’s a PC RTS though. It’s style of play may not lend itself as well to a console RTS like Halo Wars.
But then again, maybe with the right developer, it could.

Definitely Forge Mode

I think it would be nice to see the prometheans as a new faction as well as having more up to date vehicles

Halo wars 2 needs the flood and prometheans to be a playable race. I don’t know who the commanders would be if any at all.

We need to have playable flood and forerunners along with covenant and unsc. There also needs to be a way to defend the quick strikes to avoid people rushing everytime.

There are numerous ways to counter rushes.

LOL! Agreed!

More playable characters and diversity.

the one thing I wasn’t a fan of in the first game was when building your base, you were really limited in how you could use the spaces. I think a camp building system like in command and conquer would be so much better and make for an even more exciting and diverse gameplay experience.

it needs to be able to go from a birds eye view to 1st person and then if you die you go back to a birds eye view its like toy soldiers game that would be fun

In the original there was some pre-order bonus that allowed your units to have a custom skin. I would love to see some of that in their as well. That said, I would absolutely NOT want the skins to be micro transactions.

Well if wie get free dlc I am fine with paying for skins.
I would prefer skins aus rewards

  • highest rank flamming skull on your units
  • finishing the story Blue themed unitesEtc…

phaetons…

Yep, they could be a little bit weaker than a Vulture but stronger than a Hawk.
But we also need ground vehicels for the prometheans.
If CA is as creative as Ensemble studios they can implement lots of new great things.

I love the idea of Ranked ladder system in Halo Wars. I love any ranked game modes or arena game modes.

For an RTS game a good rank/skill system is the most important thing to keep the new players playing the game.
If you get destroyed over and over again you will quit sonn.
Thats why Halo3 and Halo wars survived as long as they did, and Halo5 Arena is almost dead.

OP

I think what the game needs most is.

  1. Campaign for each playable faction. That’s a genre staple for this type of strategy game, be it StarCraft or Command and Conquer. So if they add Covenant, Covie campaign. If they add Prometheans, Promethean campaign. If they add Flood…Flood campaign.

  2. Each campaign longer than a couple of hours.

  3. At least 3 playable factions. In other words add either Flood or Prometheans.

  4. Scale things up just a little bit to be more like Command and Conquer in terms of scale.

  5. Don’t force a unit cap on the game. A next gen console should be able to handle as many units as a PC.

  6. If Flood are playable, do the Flood properly. You should get most of your units by infecting either enemy units. I don’t want to see them work like a normal faction where I recruit pure strain forms from my hive. They’re not the Zerg.

BTW I actually think Prometheans would be awesome to do in a campaign. Just because in a strategy game you have the scale to go all out with all the crazy Forerunner technology and machines. You could just go crazy with that faction.
