Over the past few months I have lost a lot of in-game progress in Halo Wars 2. All of the Phoenix Logs have registered as unread and the DLC Phoenix Logs have become locked again. My “Favorite Leader” was erased and my game settings were set back to default. The last two Theater cutscenes of the main Halo Wars 2 campaign have become locked again even though the game shows I’ve completed every campaign mission. Blitz mode acts like I have never played it before and got rid of any custom deck I created. My overall Rank and Card Library have not been reset though. The first time it happened I just decided to unlock everything again and was in the process of doing that when it was all reset again. If anyone can let me know if there is anything I can do to avoid it happening again in the future I would greatly appreciate it. Halo is by far my favorite fictional universe, and I would like to not have to play through a decent part of the game every time I want to see the Theater videos and Phoenix Logs I keep losing, among other things.
Update: I just lost all of the progressed that I described in the above paragraph again. What I forgot to mention the first time is that I also lose any campaign game saves. Which is extremely annoying because I’m currently playing through the game on legendary. This is beyond frustrating at this point because almost every time I play the game I lose the same things over and over again. I am here seeking support and would like to get help in fixing these problems.
The fact that I’ve seen several threads reporting this issue but no reply to them, leaves me hopeless that 343 industries solved this bug and shares their solution with the community.
Thank you for your information, I hadn’t seen that forum post yet even though I’ve tried looking into this issue online. I am still having my progress reset over and over again. I just realized for the first time that every time it happens I lose time on the total time I’ve played the game. I’m guessing it is the DLC campaign playing time that it is erasing because all my DLC optional objectives, bonus objectives, and Phoenix logs keep getting erased every time the glitch happens. The game still shows I’ve completed the entire game on legendary but it locks the last two cutscenes of the original campaign and puts the blue indicator like Ive never played campaign before. Everything I stated in my above post also gets lost every-time, and it’s still becoming ever more frequent.
I love the game and love all the little details they put in the game like the Phoenix logs, but this glitch is making me want to play the game a whole lot less.
After a little over two months of not having the problem it has happened again after I unlocked everything possible. I even bought the Complete Edition even though I already owned the Ultimate Edition in hopes of it fixing the problem. I lost everything that I stated above again. It is beyond ridiculous that such a major bug exist and continues to occur. I still have not received support on the matter and that is exactly why I came to the Support Forums. Once again can this bug be reversed and how can this extremely problematic bug be avoided in the future?
I’ve been having this issue too since launch. Unfortunately 343 committed its entire staff to Halo: Infinite, and Halo: Reach for the MCC and PC. So, we won’t be seeing any future support for Halo Wars 2 for quite a while…if at all.
Thank you for the input. It just baffles me that there has been no fix from 343 concerning this issue since the launch of the game. 343 Industries has always been dedicated to fixing problems related to their games. It makes sense that they put forth most of their effort into Infinite and the MCC, but completely abandoning support to the most recently released Halo game should not happen. This issue is one that absolutely needs a fix eventually in my opinion.
I’ve had this issue for a while as well. It’s very frustrating, especially as someone who loves to complete every game on Legendary and finish all optional/side objectives.
343 has reached out to me directly about this issue and I provided them a small list of other forums asking about this issue. They are working toward a solution.
I logged into Halo Wars 2 a few minutes ago to work on achievements. My rank is showing me at 1 when I was 16 or 17 last night. The progress for the Halo Wars 2 campaign, the skulls, and campaign log are all back to 0. I have beaten all of the main missions, found all logs, and collected all skulls, and got the achievements for them. It now shows that I haven’t completed or collected anything. The Blitz stats still show, but they are also wrong. I got the achievement for playing 777 cards yet my progress now shows 680. On my Halo Waypoint service record for Halo Wars 2, it shows my full progress, but I can’t access anything in game now.
