Halo wars 2 kickstarter? would you pitch in?

What say you?

No. Microsoft has the money. I will not support any Kickstarter by a publisher.

I love the idea of a sequel, but it will never happen. There isn’t enough of a market for Microsoft or 343 to ever seriously consider making a sequel. If it ever did happen it would be severely under funded due to lack of projected sales which would make it utter crap. For crying out loud, Halo Wars has been out for 4 years had 5 patches was in “development” for 3 years and it’s still so broken it’s ridiculous. I enjoy playing Halo Wars a lot, but frankly from critic standpoint the amount of glitches ad other imperfections in the game are mind boggling, and some of these imperfections are so obvious it blows my mind how they did not notice them when they tested the game.

I wonder if it is feasible to let people “pre-order” the game before development starts. have the option available on the publishers website and the buyers get a code for the game, assuming it gets developed. If nothing happens then your money is lost, but that is the risk of any kickstarter. I know I would do it that way.

That’s like going to a Game store, asking for a certain game and handing over £40/$60, and then having to flip a coin to see if you’ll get it.

No.

meh it was an interesting idea but still yeah I would put in for a kick starter.

but still doesn’t a kick starter have no guarantee of the game ever being developed?

maybe I just don’t understand the nature of kick starters.

I dont want big companies such as Microsoft to engage in kickstarters when they are capable of financing it themselves.

There’s no guarantee, as far as I know, but the donaters usually demand to see evidence that the projects coming along.

As for the OP, there’s no way I’m giving Microsoft anymore of my money. The amount of money I’ve spent on new Xboxes, DLC which I’ve bought and then had disappear on me, only to have customer services tell me there’s nothing they can do, the Xbox Gold I’ve bought.

I’m sure with all the money Microsoft’s made from Xbox Live Gold AND advertising at the same time, which is disgusting, they’ve got the money to do what they want.

Christmas day, I’m switching to PC gaming, and no, I’m not paying for Windows…

Nope.

This game is relatively dead and I’m not going to pour money into something that won’t make it off the ground.

That being said, I believe there are enough people in the community who aren’t strangers to working with computers (myself included) and could put together something of a sequel. This has been discussed in other threads, and I’m not going to talk about it much here, but the only way to see Halo Wars 2 is if we build it ourselves. Really, it’s as simple as that. We come from a game that averages a mere 6,000 players at a given time. We’re a community that’s remained strong, but there aren’t enough people for the marketing folks at Microsoft, or any other legitimate company, to seriously consider financing a sequel.

I can’t stress it enough. Get Halo Wars 2 out of your head, 'cause this idea’s going nowhere unless the programmers among us get off their -Yoinks!- and make us a new game.

It’d be hard, but it can be done.

Bet you all feel pretty stupid now, huh?

Can’t really think of any good reason to revive a 4 year old topic. Please, don’t do this thanks
