Halo Wars 2 crashing PC

Whenever I start the game, I get this nice black screen for some 30 seconds before the game actually starts. When it finally begins to load, everything runs smoothly until I try to load a level. The initial screen before I actually play the level loads fine, but then I hit continue. The game freezes and returns me to my desktop. I am a little confused by this, because the game was working fine yesterday and then decided to stop working. Can someone please help?

Computer specs:

GPU: Intel(R) HD Graphics 620
CPU: Intel(R) Core™ i7-7500U CPU @ 2.70GHz
Processor speed: 2904 MHz
DirectX 12
Memory: 8 GB
Operating system: Windows 10 Home (64-Bit)
All drivers are up-to-date.

Thanks to anyone in advance!

Well, your graphic card isn’t the best to play complex games, even if halo wars 2 runs quite smoothly also with poor graphic cards. The interesting ( or, i should say, annoying ) fact is that you say it worked until yesterday, so it can’t be a hardware problem.
Of course you should ( and I think you have yet done it ) turn off and restard your pc, then try again starting hw2.
On the Intel internet website, I’ve reed that you could try to empty your cache, but I doubt it could actually help.
Do you have problem with some other game, or only with hw2? Have you tried, for exemple, halo 5 forge ? Does it work well ?
Because, if you problem only with halo wars 2, you should try the classic disinstall and reinstall

This is so interesting: everything on the game works fine except for the campaign. I just tried multiplayer and singleplayer vs AI and it ran fine. I think it has something to do with the graphics card.

The minimum requirment for graphic card is a geforce 650 GTX, yours is a bit under it.
Anyway, I would’t say that it is ‘fault’ of the graphic card: if it were, you would have had problems with the entire game, not only with the campaign. I would say that it is a problem with the installation: you should try to disinstall and reinstall

You’re not gonna believe this: so I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the game a few times, but then I decided to go to my storage and do the “reset” option, which accomplishes the same thing, on the game, and it works fine now. facepalm

Finally! I’m really happy. You know, when you have to play with pc there are always tons of problems which can be resolved in strange ways.

sorry for storage you mean the microsoft store app? :\

I found a way to fix this it turns out i accidentally downloaded the game on my ssd instead of my hard drive and updated my drivers its working perfectly now

I’m having trouble with Halo Wars 2. When i try to start the campaign or blitz, it crashes right before it starts the actual game mode. I only have this problem with this specific game. I want to buy it, but I need to see if i like it enough and I won’t know if the game keeps crashing before I have the chance to play it. Can anyone help ? I’ll appreciate it. Thanks in advance
