Per the title, is there any interest from the devs to balance Halo Wars 2 Blitz for competitive play? I would think that in order to balance the game mode for competitive play, card levels would need to be disabled so all players would be on a level playing field. Detailed unit stats within the game would also be necessary.
I doubt it since the whole point of Blitz is to milk more money from the fanbase.
If true this is unfortunate because Blitz mode was marketed time and time again as a competitive game mode.
It reminds me of when Age of Empires Online was released with gear, which improved the stats of each of your units. Eventually the competitive community convinced the developers to add “champion mode” which disabled the effects of gear, but it wasn’t implemented until 2 months after release. By then the competitive community left the game for the most part.
Fortunately for Halo Wars 2, it has other multiplayer game modes which do not have unbalanced systems.

Exactly Blitz is just the means to having some sort of micro transactions. Fun game mode though.
Well, I brought up a map balance issue to the devs and they weren’t concerned about a choke point on the blue side of the map and not the red side. That pretty much answers my question about competitive play.
