Good question. Usually you have to have gold for online gaming. Guess we will find out soon.
You need Xbox Live Gold to be able to play the beta. Why? Because it’s online and you need Gold for online play. Also, I myself did try and access the beta when they released the 10GB patch. I was met with a “You need Xbox Live Gold membership to be able to access the beta”. Again, yes you need Gold. On PC you have unlimited free Gold so there’s nothing to worry about on there.
this sucks because i really wanted to try the beta but it does say its a free beta so my hopes are still high
I doubt it cos its purely the online blitz mode. And u need gold to play that.
