Just remembered that Bonnie Ross said a few months ago that “no future halo gamae will ship without a beta” due to halo mccs failures and the success of halo 5 guardians beta. Does this mean halo wars 2 will get a beta this winter?

Seriously though, Halo Wars 2 could be a bringing a lot of new additions to Xbox and Microsoft…
- Cross-platform play, or versus, using windows 10 and Xbox One compatibility.
- A RTS forge editor, or map construction, support.
- Additional Factions, and the balancing issues involved in testing them.
- Larger player count during matches.
- Different gametypes.
- Four Player Co-operative?At the very least, Halo Wars 2 will have matchmaking and thus needs to be tested.

Halo 4’s beta was internal only, so it’s possible the same will happen to Halo Wars 2.

Every game has a beta stage where they steamroll bugs and glitches.
As I’ve understood quite a few of MCC’s glitches and problems weren’t detectable on the small scale testing they performed. However, that’s not to say they didn’t know of most problems.
Halo Wars 2 will probably have an open beta because servers need testing, and some problems may only appear with a larger population.
I hope it has a beta. I would love to get my hands on it as soon as possible lol.

Well since it’s not coming out until atlest fall 2016 I doubt there will be a beta this year

I nearly forgot about that but yes I remember her saying that so I guess we should be expecting a beta eventually but hopefully they don’t leave us in the dark with this like ID Software is doing with Doom.lol
I would prefer a demo over a beta test for an RTS game. Honestly, all of the framework for the multiplayer netcode is already there, balancing units and techs on the other hand is more important in this genre.

yes it essentially needs a beta as it could very well be a very large game and will most likely require testing

I think demos are designed to be a small representation of a finished game. Meaning they won’t tweak things with a demo, only let you enjoy the game before launch. A public beta seeks to test stuff like netcode or balancing.

Considering we got the Halo 5 Beta an entire year before the actual game releases, I’m not sure why anyone would doubt the possibility of a Halo Wars 2 Beta a year in advance.
If it doesn’t then we all know 343 told a blatant lie. Hopefully they respect their fans enough to keep their promise. I’m buying mostly for single player (like every other Halo).
