Halo wars 1....

Halo wars one was so much better than 2. Love 2 but man why not just keep things how they were and maybe improve on them. Each leader was so unique (outside of just leader powers) covy leaders were actually viable. Like it Seems like they ust scrapped all the uniqueness and added a few leader powers to look cool and a micro transaction aspect to the game. Really sucks, they should’ve just made a new game and let bungie make hw2

While I agree with some of what you say it’s hard to take you seriously when you don’t even know who made halo wars 1

Games need to be more than just a upgrade of it’s predecessor. I personally felt halo wars 1 was pretty simple and you couldn’t pull of a lot of strategies. Covenant were really that viable, they need scarabs to be good endgame and unsc leaders could srompt them out.

In wars 2 the banished are so viable, the fact that each leader has so many rolls it can fill just makes the game amazing.

Covenant had plenty of options late game that were viable.

I mean sure the uniqueness has been diminished but banished is totally viable. Atriox is one of the best leaders in the game right now actually so… Yeah. You just need to pick up banished.

The thing about halo wars one is that end game was basically unit spam, so if you were cutter drop odsts and mac, Anders spam hawks. The covenant lacked unique units that were good endgame so it was mainly scarab and engineers.

They made the original leaders (non DLC) have basically the same units, so you would buy the DLC KEWL leader units :frowning:

That’s how it goes now a days. They probably didn’t have a lot of funding so this was the route

Assault beam hunters were the best late game unit in HW1. They can even destroy a full pop of oxide flamers. If covie player gets assault beam against your UNSC you might as well resign. This was strictly 1v1 though.

Disagree completely. HW1 looks like a mobile game now regarding game complexity and depth.

Frankly the only two aspects HW1 did better were unit upgrades and map interactive elements. HW2 is vastly superior in every other aspect, it truly feels like an RTS.

Well an army of flamethrowers is much cheaper to produce than an army of hunters, hence why hunters win.

If the only thing that the unsc can rely on is to spam one unit, then they will become heavily vulnerable to counter units. Wraiths work very well against odsts as do jackels, and vampires very effective against hawks. Even ghosts can be an effective unit at the right cost and tech.
