Halo Warfleets

Morning Spartans,

Like most of you I ordered Halo Mythos, thinking it would be the Halo encyclopedia of 343 and while the time line and a few characters were fleshed out, I was still left wanting when it came to the ships and technology used by all factions. Enter Warfleets.

As described by Grim in the latest Canon Fodder post this book will look at all three major factions ships, their design and the technology which turn them for metal to ministers of war. Although it will be a full year before it’s release, it’s great to finally get a chance to look at all the ships which currently make up the universe and those yet to be introduced (mysterious frigate in halo 5 start screen I am looking at you) amongst others.

Check out the article to get all the news. So does this raise your eyebrows a bit? What ships are you wanting to see in this book?

I’m down for it, I enjoy comparing the specs of the different ships to wage little mind games on how different situations may play out.

The ships I’d probably like to see more info on would be Forerunner vessels, historic race vessels (their early fleet ships from the first decades after each of them became a space faring species), and the newest ships in the UNSC.

I am interested to see if we a successor to the Punic and Valiant class will be mentioned as well as that mysterious frigate in halo 5 screen

I’m excited for it (even made a thread for it) but I’m less excited about the release date. I’m kinda hoping it’ll include specifications for the smaller fighter craft used by the UNSC and Covenant.

Isn’t the halo 5 start screen frigate a strident class? Because it looks exactly like the forward unto dawn model in halo 4 and infinity’s support fleet in spartan ops (i know that forward unto dawn is canonically a Paris class heavy, but its halo 4 model is possibly the best example we have of a strident class).

Totally agree with you about the release date. I am hoping that this is because new ships for the various factions are going to be mentioned in up coming media before then.

Your correct, the Forward Unto Dawn was a Paris class but was turned into a Strident class for…reasons. The support ships from Spartan Ops were also Stridents, however the more eagled eyed amongst us sighted differences from themail and the one in halo 5 start screen. There is a thread in this forum called “New frigate design” I think. Check it out.

Im kinda dissapointed we’ll only get ten cutaways. With five sections thats…two per.
I hope they choose good ships for each. A Halcyon is a given (its on the cover) and I have no doubt we’ll see a CCS or CAS for the Covenant…
Wonder what the Forerunners will get? Mantles Approach and the Dreadnought?

Dawn was a Charon class I think. The Paris class didnt show up until Halo Reach (Savanah, Grafton)

In Amber Clad was the Charon class frigate. Forward Unto Dawn was a Paris class. I agree with your previous comment was disappointed with Mythos lack of ship related lore but we will see what this book brings

No In Amber Clad was a Stalwart class frigate, Forward Unto Dawn is a Charon class frigate. Speaking of frigates we better see what a covenant frigate looks like in this book.

Can you put a link in to the thread?

Halopedia agrees; Dawn was a Charon, In Amber Clad was a Stalwart.

Halo Waypoint’s own Universe entries agree, FFG-201 was a Charon, FFG-142 a Stalwart.

If I don’t get more information on the UNSC SUPERCARRIER (bold because of how awesome it is), then I’m going to have to storm 343i and beat them to death with the book.

I can not wait for this. Also to have the same guy who did the star wars book is just the icing on the cake.
