Halo: Warfleet

My copy arrived today. I recommend it to interested parties. But be warned, it is about 35.5 cm (14 in) tall, so if you have book-shelves with fixed shelf heights, it probably won’t fit.

Regarding the content, it is a beautiful book that does contain a lot of information regarding the various vessels of the UNSC, Covenant, and Forerunners. However, I wish they’d finally given the CSO Supercarrier its own entry, giving us some hard information that distinguishes it from the CAS Assault Carrier other than its length and the vague mention of it having Forerunner technology incorporated into it.

I also would have liked if it had given us the power of the weapons. Knowing the names of the different types of MACs and Covenant beam weapons is nice, but I like to know numerically how they relate.

Halo was never known to give an excact number of the energy output of their weapons.
But for the MAC we know that the projectile reaches between 3-4 percent of lightspeed.
Also it got mentioned that one round has the destructive power of an nuclear warhead, but this is most likely outdated.
For the glassing beam, the output is stated as the power of"several nuclear warheads per second".

I wouldn’t have minded more overall information in the cutaways either. Sure, they’re pretty, but the Star Wars cutaway books had REAMS of information, lots of little tiny things listed and noted.
Most of the stuff I read here was old news.

Any mention of Precursors or Star Roads. I read somewhere that someone who had the book said it mentioned them.

It has this picture in it,thats all I know.
A face only a mother could love.

It mentions them briefly, but it does give additional explanation of Neural Physics beyond what we’re explicitly told in the Forerunner Saga.

Do you have the quote for that? I’d love to know the info.

I’m sure it’s mother finds that face adorable.

I liked it a lot. I hope they release a Volume 2 at some point, there are plenty of ships that have been referred to and never visually depicted and others that have been shown but that we don’t have much info on. More cutaways would be cool too.

Section regarding Star Roads

Untouchable and perpetual filament of neurophysical energy woven between dimensions by the Precursors. Their shadows in real space took the appearance of multi-kilometer-thick filaments of strange matter. Rendered inert with the passing of the Precursors, the Gravemind reactivated the star roads to transport plague fleets, moved filaments to crush Forerunner fortifications, and dredged up artifacts anchored in the deepest layers of unreality to cleanse entire star clusters of life. The star roads splintered when Halo fired.

What’s people’s thought on this For me personally, this is the kind of lore I live for.
