Halo war 2 unit predictions

First I apologize in advance for horrible sentence structure I am only 14 and English is my worst subject (I hate paragraphs) but here are my predictions.
first leaders, I expect a Promethean faction hopefully playable and if they are I expect their leaders to be Warden Eternal, The Diadact (probably ur didact or Shadow of Sundered star) and maybe one of the legendary Promethean bosses like endurance of will and captain Hestro. For covenant Defiantly the brute from the trailer but then how about Jul M’dama and Thel Vadam yes Thel is on the UNSC’s side but he still leads a covenant faction and so does Jul, who is dead probably wont be in the campaign. for UNSC Cutter and Anders for sure but With well you know Forge definitely wont be in the campaign so maybe… Laskey? Is that a good idea? For normal units I expect the Wolverine to be scraped since the rocket hog has the same purpose and is more iconic. I also expect the addition of the mammoth that will be the UNSC’s uber unit as oppose to the vulture. I also hope for the falcon and the gungoose. I also hope to be able to use Longswords and Broadswords and if we are lucky sabre’s. Covenant may also have the Kraken as the new uber unit and also have Lich’s and Revenant’s/specter’s, also give us the ability to build drone swarms. For Promethean’s Give us knights, crawlers, watchers and solders and we will probably also get the phaeton. Add other forunner units like Sentinels and Enforcers to add variety and add some of the cut stuff or stuff from the lore like war Sphinx and that pack master that was cut from 5. And finally the flood if they were in the only leaders I can think of are a proto gravemind, the gravemind and Mendicant bias, who is no longer loyal to the flood… and a few infected units? maybe an infested scorpion? defiantly pure forms and combat forms. Ok sorry I am drawing blanks for the flood.

What’s funny is that the cool ones were also some of the least used units. Cobras with rail guns that sounded awesome when they set up and shot were nigh worthless. Just if you were turtling against vehicles. Choppers? Nah, no one wants poorman’s Warthogs. Locust? Situational I suppose.

Unit function/cost/requirements certainly needs to be reworked in Halo Wars 2. Cobras were definitely useful, they were hindered by being a tech 3 level unit, while tanks were only level 2. A Cobra’s primary function was as an anti-tank unit, so making it a tech 3 unit severely hindered that function.

Simply making it a tech level 2 unit would also throw off balancing which is why both function (HP/Damage, countering) and unit cost would also need to be re-evaluated.

Anyways. Halo Wars 2 needs a more robust countering and unit function/role system than its predecessor.

just because you didn’t use them doesn’t mean others didn’t, spartans in cobras leveled crazy fast and had some of the highest damage in the game, cobras were extremely useful when you were making a solo push vs an enemy base as a good unit comp of wolverines and cobras could counter any 1-2 person retaliatory response from unsc and if you were to use hunters to counter the unfriendly cobra/wolverine force you probably would lose the base cuz their MS gave you ample time to wreck the base which sometimes did more damage then losing your units. then again what the previous guy said about them being weird units to be level 3 tech is true so you wouldn’t see much use when your game only lasts 5 to 15 minutes like in standard, you saw them more in deathmatch and custom games

Hmm. I personally believe Halo Wars 2 will bring a bunch of units that are not in Halo Wars 1 and things we have never seen before. Wraiths and Scorpions will obviously be in the game but units like maybe Locust and flamethrowers may not be in HW 2. Well actually they may change how the Locust works and definitely how it looks. Flamethrowers should just be replaced with snipers to be honest but if Flood is a playable faction (I say faction because Flood is technically not a race) in the game and infantry is gonna be their strong points then maybe flamethrowers can be put in aswell. As long as it doesn’t have its role taken by someone else.

It’s actually really difficult to think of what kind of units will be in HW 2 other than the most obvious. I’m just gonna say this. HW 1 has mostly 4 units for each department depending on which subfaction you play as. Not including the Covenant faction leaders. Infantry and vehicle. I expect HW 2 to have 6 - 11 units for each department except air and no I’m not insane. That is how many a normal RTS game has for each department. In those number of units, special and hero units are included like the Scarab and special hero units like Spartans and such. The air department don’t really need a lot of units since there aren’t that many needed to make use of them effectively.

You only need a AA air unit and bombers and transport. Not much else is needed, though i would welcome more air units and it would be interesting for there to be a subfaction specialized with Air units, giving them most air units. We have seen the UNSC artillery unit, new turret, Chopper redesign, a mech? Mark I?, Warthog redesign and the attack bike from Halo megablocks. They may or may not be in HW 2 but the artillery unit is 100% since it was cut from HW 1. I expect more new things like that for each race and faction. I expect a lot of new things for Flood we have never seen before if they end up as a playable faction.

I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be right after the events of HW1 so there won’t be thel 'vadam or jul 'mdama. And not any promethen ppl

I expect some new units that look dumb and nobody uses, like the cyclops.

Cobras however are kryptonite to scarabs. oh you have 5 cobras for 10pop well what would happen when you put 20 cobras (40popcap)vs 2 scarabs + 10 engineers
scarabs do stand a change but when the cobras fire, you are in trouble my friend.

I have serious doubts that the Halo Wars 2 would be in the same timeline as Halo five, remember that the first Halo Wars was in the time frame twenty years before the events of Halo: CE. Flooded should be playable as new sub factions and units, however more units are needed however better air defence against vultures are needed if they still placed in the game.

And THIS right here is why so many people are so utterly bad at HW. The fact you think Gremlins are dumb when just 2-3 will easily win you a tank war, thanks to the stun and being built from the station, which is one extra thing you can build alongside your Vehicle depot while cutter and forge don’t have access to it and are forced to give up a supply pad slot for a 2nd depot.
What would happen between 2 scarabs against 20 cobras? You have fun with your slow-as-molasses cobras wasting time locking down while the scarabs run away through terrain you can’t pass and destroy bases at triple the speed and base race you for an easy win.

Yeah… no… Only bad players lose to Wolverine/Cobra armies. The counter is actually the cheapest and fastest unit to make: Marines. 10-15 Medic marines soak up all the cobra shots and you use your three spartan tanks to canni the closest cobra then pull back, wait for the cd, and repeat. If you lose marines, at 100 they are easy to replace and you win the war of attrition.

You have no idea what you’re talking about… Hunters with Mega beam kill all vehicles far too quickly, they get the same 3X multiplier against vehicles as they do versus heavy vehicles and cobras and wolves have even LESS hp than tanks do. On top of it all cobras having to lock down make them so easy to pick off with leader powers, especially mac blast.

You didn’t explain why cyclops were any good, and you argued my point. PS. you can use marines to counter Gremlins, it all depends on the situation. It’s only dumb is when they lose to what they are supposed to counter.

really rooting here for the ultra weapons as upgrades oh and give the flamethrower marines some F***ING snipers i saw the rebels have them so the model was made.
