Halo Veterans

I’m not a big fan of asking for things, but since I, like many others, have owned every single Halo since the original CE and logged multiplayer on every game, think that it’s time for a special reward for the Halo Vets. Maybe not something big- doesn’t have to be, really. But something to acknowledge that we exist.

Helmet, armor effect, little tag that goes beside your gamertag in the lobby- just something.

As someone who has also owned every halo game, I disagree. There shouldn’t be content locked to those who didn’t discover the series earlier.

You get to play the game. Congratulations!

They know if you played Halo 2 online, they know if you played Halo CEA (same applies for all other Halo games).

I actually agree OP. Maybe a special armor that you can only get if you have played every single Halo game.

You mean like the various nameplates Bungie gave us in Reach?

And for those who played Halo 2 but couldn’t access Xbox Live? What then?

Yeah exactly, I have all the halos and I’ve brought them in duplicates for system link at my house and I didn’t have xbox live during Halo 2 days. It’s really not fair. 343 should add an option to read some code we have on the xbox games or inside the cover (something unique) that we can enter on the website to prove we had the games, if not then that’s all pointless; it’s not fair on Reach since I’ve been playing for 10 years and I didn’t have live for halo 2 so I don’t get the nameplate, so annoying.

Meh, I don’t need a video game, of all things, to tell me I’m special.

Hate to point this out, but there were plenty of opportunities to play Halo 2 online before it went offline. I’ve played one game online, and got the nameplate.

I think their should be, kind of like what Battlefield does. The weapons are there for everyone to unlock, but the Vets get them a lot earlier. Thing Halo should do that from a cosmetic side.

I played all the games but Halo Wars (didn’t really get the chance to do it)… I guess its too late now…

maybe an equivalent to recon and haunted helmet. you get this by playing completing EVERY halo game on normal.
This includes:
Halo: CE/CEA
Halo 2
Halo 3
Halo 4
Halo 3: ODST
Halo: Reach
Halo: Wars

No thanks.

The internet wasn’t exactly the most convenient or accessible thing in a lot of places back then. Hell, even during the days of Halo 3 it was pretty bad here.

Agreed, this would just cause a lot of people complaining how it is unfair. Instead, why don’t you just put it as your code (I forgot it’s name, but I mean the thing where people write whatever they want), like VETS or something like that?

maybe those who’ve got the mark VI helmet nameplate in reach get access to the halo 4 alpha (supposing there’d be a public beta)?

> As someone who has also owned every halo game, I disagree. There shouldn’t be content locked to those who didn’t discover the series earlier.

Yeah, yes vet rewards would be fun, but locked items tend to cause problems, look at the Bungie flaming heads and Recon, two things given out to select people, and every one and the dog wanted those things.

I’d prefer the reward of having Halo 4 be the game we need it to be to anything else. I could care less for some shiny toy, is the real reward not to have been there for the entire experience, for example, people new to the series will never be able to experience the wonders of Halo 2 on Xbox Live, or CE LAN tournaments (before someone says but you can still do those, who is organizing them eh?).

Just to make it to the extreme vets

Halo: CEA
Halo: PC
Halo 2: Vista
Halo 2
Halo 3
Halo 4
Halo 3: ODST
Halo: Reach
Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta
Halo: Wars

And to top it off, it has to be unlocked on the halo waypoint app.

I get that. When I started playing Halo 3, it was almost unplayable for me due to a bad modem.

But still, Halo 2 was taken down on April 15, 2010. All that you needed to do was play one game.
