Halo used to be a man's game

Then play Halo 2 if you think it was perfect.

Which 1 is this? Fact or opinion?

Beat me to it, was just about to say what is this a H2 lobby?

You say this with no proof, like they aren’t going to add more Halo things too.

Believe it or not, it still is, Campaign is all about that, MP still has that, it just has some extra options for flair.

Opinion, Halo Reach and 3 were better, but this isn’t a point you can argue.

If you walk into a boot camp in real life right now. Will you see flower petals falling from players shoes? Or will you see dirt flying up from their boots as they run in the dirt?

How about you give it a try and tell me.

I know I’m more likely to see flowers flying up than flaming footsteps, but you don’t seem to say anything about the flames. Seems you’re a little bias on what unrealistic things you oppose.

Halo has never been a gritty game. Saturated colors, color palettes that bucked the norm to give you visual indicators of enemy rank, weaponry, and prowess, variations on environments that set itself apart in visceral ways unlike the desaturated grey/brown/rust palettes of the day.

There are gritty parts yes, and the UNSC equipment (up till Halo 4 and 5, in some parts Infinite) showed off this grit, but “gritty” is not at all how I would describe Halo to someone who’s never played it. My gf even calls it “that bright colorful game you like” and that’s from seeing Reach gameplay with went with an intentional desaturated tone.

Maybe you will be, but for now like most of your topics and responses, it’s baseless or factually incorrect opinion.

We don’t have Johnson anymore, but the Marines’ banter reflects and has always reflected that tone. Halo wasn’t meant as a military sim, it was a larger than life sci-fi powertrip simulator. The military bravado was cranked up not to give you the idea you were in a warzone, but to lend some character to the overly used bland trope of being in the military. It’s why Cortana’s sarcasm and overt casual tone stands out, and why the Chief’s character doesn’t try to overpower Johnson’s.

It’s not a matter of will they. It’s “why is this a priority over those Halo things”.

Why would I play a campaign I don’t even like?

Halo 3 is still apart of the originals. Some could even argue reach because of how gritty it was. Either way that point is on my side. Reguardless of how you feel about my post you agree that Halo 3 and Halo reach did it more right in terms of atmosphere than the rest.

What am I suppose to say? If I already don’t like the petals what makes you think I don’t like the flames either? I already said I don’t like the skull thing when you die. I don’t like any of it. Any of the effects but I was ok with it in reach because it only went so far. I seen people wear the storm thing and sometimes the heart thing but it was very little. It’s was a sprinkle. A dash of sillines. Now there is samrui looking armour. Multiple types. Odd coating selections. Cat ears. Flower petals. Flaming head. Flaming foot steps. It’s all just TOO much for me

So the issue is people are using them more? Because if it’s just you saw them less, then that’s on the community not 343 or Bungie. In Reach anyone could equip those silly effects and bright pink if they wanted. Maybe you saw less people doing it, but is that really the devs fault?

It’s obviously not since they’ve only had 2 bundles that you could argue aren’t “Halo” (these being cat ears and the other being mister chief.)… I can’t really argue on Yaroi content since 343i has labeled them as fractures and at that point is simply whether or not you approve of them.

Don’t even know why you’re playing a MP you don’t seem to like, but my point was that Halo is still Halo, it’s still your scifi space shooter.

I said Halo 3 and Reach were better than 2. I think Infinite maintains a similar atmosphere to reach, it’s just marred by some questionable (awful) mechanics… and choices, such as having no earnable cosmetics among other things such as a questionable lack of content.

I’m more saying the number of non Halo items will increase. Right now.its sitting at a place that close to where reach was. You’d see one dude in a smauri suit. One guy in HCS stuff. One guy with car ears. At some point I feel like it will overflow with different items where it will be some every time you load up a match you see effect moving everywhere. Sometimes it’s actually distracting from the enjoyment because I’m trying to see something and the effect is just in the way. Like the big read skull for example.

Idk how they fix this other than giving the options to at least turn off effects. But then players would feel like what’s the point of having it if other players can’t see it.

So I’m guessing you’ve never t-bagged ever then since flowers and frilly things aren’t man like.

Again. All I’m saying is that there is a fine line and in my opinion we are on the line about to cross over into Fortnite zone.

This is how I see it. The arbiter falling to his death in halo 2. He lets out funny screams. He’s not wearing a clown suit. Lighting isn’t coming from his hands. It’s just a funny scream. Something light. Something that doesn’t intrude on the “Halo” image where it’s just a Spartan and his gun. Yes this is my opinion. By all means someone can call car ears manly. All power to them. I just believe it doesn’t fit halo

Makes no sense. What youre saying basically equates to, “we’re all forced to wear cat ears and sprout flowers.”

Why does everything have to be manly? Why do cat ears need to be manly?

No. What I was saying was that we had it better back then because we could simply choose the color. I should have sepreated that point

Cat ears can be MANLY and Feminine

I’m not saying they can’t. This person just seems to want to think Halo has to be exclusively manly, as if that’s what everyone wanted.
