Halo TV show what could it be? (Steven Spielberg)

After the announcement of the TV show being produced by Spielberg 2 years ago, and still that being the only info of the show, hopefully not ending up like the Landfall Movie. I would like them to visit more during the Human Covenant war, like focusing on Blue Team when they where in there prime before the events of Reach, I just want more focus on Blue team and would make sense being them making an appearance in Halo 5, just for the people to get to know the characters more for the people that don’t read the books. What do you think the story could be?

One of the topics started discussed the possibility of Hunt the Truth being the catalyst for the TV show with the whole ONI vs Outer Colonies being central to the TV show’s plot.

Edit: As much as I want to see Blue Team on the show I don’t think it’s gonna happen. I think they’d be lucky to even be referenced.

I’d really love to see a series focused on Blue Team during their training and the war, but that’ll most likely never happen. I find it a plausible theory that characters from Hunt the Truth will be making an appearance or that the show even focuses on them. At least Keegan Michael Key and Cobie Smulders could easily play Ben and Petra, respectively.

It’ll be about the UEG-Outer Colonies situation. Highly relevant to Guardians’ storyline, plus you’d need minimal effects. No aliens, no supersoldiers, no drawn-out war scenes; just good writing, talented acting and a decent location scout.

I really hope they give us more details maybe a sneek peek in this years E3 I’ts right around the corner!

I would like to see a show focusing on Spartans, especially Spartan IIs, but maybe even Spartan IIIs, or IVs if they are doing a good story arch. I think these stories could be flushed out a little more from the beginning.

Have they even started production on this. I mean we have literally heard nothing and its supposed to come out with H5. I don’t know how they are going to work this out.

That’ll be a good surprise, plus campaign

Now one knows, all kept really quiet.

the pessimist in me says its cancelled as not even a slither of information has come out. Film and TV projects are to big to go unnoticed, then again maybe Microsoft can actually keep a secret.

I always used to think the only thing worth putting on screen was a good ONI movie or ODST fight.

But seeing 343 at the moment I’m thinking Rebels or UNSC inside story’s stuff

I’d love to see them follow an ODST squad.

With Hunt the Truth and the connection to Halo 5, I see this show being very human-based.

I just hope it doesn’t reek of noncommittal, run-of-the-mill sci-fi like Nightfall did. Forward Unto Dawn was much better. Hoping Spielberg lives up to his long reputation and makes something wonderful.

Spielberg should not disappoint!

Although I want more Info I personally don’t want the show to take up much E3 time bring on the games reassure me I wont only be playing halo these next few years.

Yes, that was my thread. Reasons why it’s likely that Hunt the Truth and the show are tied together:

  1. The cast includes multiple actors who made their careers on TV as major characters (particularly FERO, Ben and especially Petra)
  2. Petra. 343i have set her up for a major role by slowly trickling her into the story. It seems she’ll have a major role in the future, and the TV show would be a good bet as that must be something 343i had planned way back when they first began planning Halo’s future.
  3. The complete lack of news on the TV show is worrying, since a show meant to come out around around Halo 5’s release should have a lot of production news by now. So either the show is cancelled, in a major delay, or maybe there’s more to Hunt the Truth than we are led to believe.
  4. HTT sets up major conflict between ONI/UNSC and the Outer Colonies led by FERO. None of that seems to be appropriate story material for the next game, considering Halo 5 already has a lot on its plate (the Master Chief, Locke, the Arbiter, Sanghelios, the Covenant Remnant, the Prometheans, the digiDidact and these new Guardians). That said, this is exactly the kind of story that would fit the Halo TV show. Focusing on conflict between humans means the show wouldn’t need to consistently throw aliens at our face, and aliens are very difficult to do on a TV budget while keeping a high quality level (CGI, prosthetics and such).

I also agree that whatever this show will be about, it won’t focus on major characters and storylines featured in the games. I don’t see Blue Team appearing in the show for any more than a small cameo. I also think we won’t see many aliens in the show, but that when we do see them they’ll look great. I’m hoping for a lot of space stuff, with ships and planets, and intrigue between the UNSC and the New Colonial Alliance (FERO is most likely Ilsa Zane).

If the show is still on track (and I hope it is), the major reveal pretty much has to come at Comic Con. It just makes too much sense.
That said, we could get a very short teaser in E3 to remind us that it still exists and to announce the big Comic Con reveal.
BTW Comic Con is in July 9-12.

I hope you are right because this has the potential to blow The Forward Unto Dawn out of the water smaller engagements based around the more human side of the Universe is what we need more of.

Most likely the continuation of the story of the crew of the Spirit of Fire, as it would give them siginificantly more creative freedom than something directly influencing the events of Halo 5.
