So, I may have an idea of the launch timing of the Halo TV Series. I am pretty confident it will launch in July or August of this year. I say this due to the site for Simon and Schuster (The company making the Halo Books) posted a new Halo book on the way on July 14th, 2020.
ISBN: 9781982143619
I can tell you this book is Halo related due to the section below the details. Here is what it says (Copy and pasted:)

See how it says Movie or Television Tie-In?
If the book releases on July 14th, and that is only a few weeks after E3 2020, it makes sense to be based on the TV Series.
I do believe the TV Series can work. I was not a fan of Halo 4. But Halo: Forward Unto Dawn the Movie was not too bad. It did not focus on the Chief, obviously. But it was pretty darn good. What do you all think? Any ideas on its release or what the plot will be about? You can also talk about the book here as well.

It was announced that the TV show would debut in early 2021. I would be very surprised if it comes out this year.

I think there’s gonna be a news or an update from the Halo TV Series especially if we’re getting a trailer and the first official image of Master Chief.

We’ll see a trailer, of some sort, this year. I have no doubt about that. The show will premier sometime in 2021. They’re taking their time with this to make sure its right.
I’m in the unpopular camp of opinion that the only worthwhile Halo live action production to date is the Blomkamp Halo 3 trailer. But I’m hoping that the Showtime show can change that.
July feels a bit early, but it is possible the book is related as set-up material. I think it’s more likely that whoever tagged it on S&S didn’t do the best job of selecting relevant tags, though; given the timing, I think it’s likely the book has more to do with Infinite than the Showtime show.
I’m fairly sure that the show is going to Debut in 2021 but I guarantee we will see something big during or after E3 to go in tandem with the Hype for Halo Infinite.
Hello, I have questions that I really want to hear from everyone.
With the success of Detective Pikachu and Sonic the hedgehog, will this create more hope and excitement for future video game adaptations including the upcoming Halo TV Series from Showtime?
And, if there’s going to be more video game adaptations, which video games would you like to see getting a movie and TV Series? Would like to hear your thoughts. Thanks and keep up the great work.

It’s a difficult comparison to make. Detective Pikachu and Sonic are similar movies with animation and kid-friendly vibes. They also weren’t critical successes either - although they weren’t bombs, they’re not exactly wowing critics either. Both movies were fun additions, but nothing to write home about. Seemed more like in both instances that they were just banking on the popularity of the themes for money, and throwing a little Ryan Reynolds and Jim Carrey into the mix as well.
I’m still waiting for the video game movie/TV show that unites video game nerds and non-nerds alike. If you would’ve asked anyone in 2010 what A Game of Thrones was, only the fantasy loving book reading crowd would be able to tell you. Now, it’s pop culture.
Not sure what the franchise will be that does this, but I’m placing my money on it not being Halo, unfortunately.
