Halo TV Series - Episode 8: Allegiance Discussion

Chief wasn’t totally unarmored, he was only lacking the plate armor and shielding. He’d still be as strong, but not as well protected.

The show at some point got cut down from 10 episodes to 9, so I think we’re seeing some of the reprocusions of that.

That and I feel like they really needed to cut kwan. She has so little to do with the rest of the story, and she eats up an entire episode and like 3/4 of another one that could have been used servicing the main plot.

I noticed that too.

Earth Planet
Earth City

lol

The writers really have no idea.

They wouldn’t even need to play the games. Just pop on the wiki and look up one of the cities and use its name.

“Human fighting human” had always been a part of Halo with the insurection, but it was only a secondary storyline. Now, 343 is too focus on it, first with capitaine Del Rio, then Osiris, now Halsey in the TV show. This can’t work because Halo is about human fighting aliens and should stay on it

Now I’m curious, since Cortana was injected into John’s brain how does she speed up his reactions in the suit? In the Core Canon halo universe Cortana translates the impulses directly into motion, presumably faster than the regular MJOLNIR neural connection can. I’m not really sure how the MJOLNIR in the TV series universe works, if it just goes off of the Spartans muscle movements instead of a neural connection.
That being said since John was wearing the underskin of the MJOLNIR during the fight did that help increase his speed, even though he didn’t have a helmet on to make the nerual connection.

I think Cortana speed up his reaction directly in his brain. She is with him even if he is naked, so the armor isn’t essential for her to work

That would make sense, I mean she’s injected right into his brain like some kind of Nano technology. I am interested in seeing what limitations she has with that type of connection, manipulating chemicals, could she go as far as altering genes to make him even more powerful?
I still don’t like this idea of her being injected instead of a chip form that connects to a neural network, maybe the show will change that later on.

There is a chip in Master Chief brain, I don’t think it’s a nanotechnologie like Cortana is everywhere in his body.
I don’t like it too, I hope Master Chief will insist to remove her from him to insert her in his armor. Miranda Keyes could do it for him

I’ve always imagined it like the Nero-Link company, how Elon has the Loonie sized device that has threads connected to specific areas. Except in halo it’s connected to the brain stem or somewhere in that area.
I hope they do something like that as well, haha.
Even Cortana being able to project herself with no equipment just as long as she’s close to John doesn’t feel right.

When they’re isn’t any equipement, she’s projected in his head and only him can see her

That would make more sense, I thought they said she can projector herself within a certain distance from the Chief. I’ll have to re-watch that EPs

Seems like that, unless some hero comes up and make a remake based on the books and games.

This is what we’re told, but we’re shown cortana visible to others like when Kai sees Chief remove his chip.

What episode was that ? Maybe there was a holo projector somewhere

3 i think? When he takes his emotional control pellette out. Its the bathroom, kind of an odd spot to have a projector.

Then again prison cells apparently have entertainment systems according to episode 8.

Maybe there are projectors everywhere in UNSC installation and my first theory that he is the only one to see her is fake. This XXI century, it’s maybe not odd for them. Imagine ours ancestors one century before if they saw how many screen we have today
