Halo Tournaments Thought

I had a thought that infinite could have online promotional tournaments of varying degrees of skill and rewards.

I think it would add a level of competition to the franchise that could bring interest from other markets. It would be cool and could be implemented by design to bring revenue from micro transactions by way of a point system of sorts to be developed by 343.

I would like the prizes to be anything from a t-shirt to… (a bit much but) open tournaments globally for ffa for chances at prizes like visit to 343.

Just a thought.
Chime in or like if you think this would boost the fun of the game…

I

I think the closest thing we have and will get to this are the Microsoft Store tournaments hosted around the US (Europe doesn’t exist apparently)

Yes… I just had a thought… My Microsoft store is an hour away and… It’s inconvenient. The thought was to expand competitive gaming to not just the concept of either you made it or did not.

A metaphor is that in other sports like basketball, there is college, NBA, ymca leagues etc. However, in mlg it is just NBA.

Please share some ideas… Team work makes the dream work

As someone who lives in EU and never had even an option of going to a tournament like this - I would host Halo game nights in game stores like GameStop (which are struggling financially and could use the boost); Maybe this could also be an option across the US?

I did not know that about EU or gamestop.

I think if you can play from home, it alleviates geographic negligence of ms store tournaments. However, this does not directly address gamestop… For gamestop I would suggest something I do not want to get into as the provider of this forum is a competitor indirectly of said business.

To clarify on the premise that I admittadly failed to convey appropriately:

Building Online Tournaments that incorporate micro transactions in a non gambling way to assist 343 in a conducive relationship between 343 industries and halo players with facets as follows:

  1. :trophy: rewards like armor or achievement
  2. possibility of non-monetary and non game related rewards like what could they be other than monetary rewards
  3. ways to incorporate into the game in a non toxic manner
  4. ****and how 343 will regain their investment and profit from the incorporation of the tournaments through micro transactions other than buying items that you can only get by :1st_place_medal: the tournaments or placing

Finally, as a side note any ideas on appeasible micro transactions we want or need would be awesome to add…

You see, if you make it a from-home it could fall apart quickly.

People not showing up, connection issues people dropping out mid-tournament. If you actually take your time to go to a location, you are making somewhat of a commitment and you are less likely to just rage quit if you personally met some people and the organizers.

I thought about some matchmaking mode where you start off with 50 players that are ranked individually through a series of FFA matches, then the top 20 are placed into teams and then ranked in a team through series of team-based games and the top 10 of those are left for a final 5v5 show down.

Physical prizes would not be realistic unfortunately, unless they severely limit the number of these matches per month.

I think you are right about the size. They resemble E-Sports and ms tournament’s but less in size.
Many of them as a different Playlist and definitely just in game rewards.

Thanks for the feedback.
