Today i was re-installing Halo 2 on PC and i thought of something, why is this not yet on the windows store
I have all halo releases currently available for pc and 3 of those are cracked, which is not as simple as just letting it install it its own.
the games i am talking about are Halo Combat evolved, Halo Custom Edition and Halo 2 Vista
so i have some suggestions, what i think needs to happen with those games.
- Add them to the windows store - update Halo 2 (and if possible the other 2 as well) so it can use the Xbox app installed in win10, which we use to sign in, which eliminates the need for GFWL - update halo 2 and make is possible to play on player hosted servers like Halo combat evolved has.
Edit: 2 and 3 mean they need to update the games and it might not be possible, or 343 doesnt want to do so.
Obviously the people who have the game can get it for free, first account that has activated halo 2 vista gets it for free (or if the account doesnt exist anymore the next person gets it).
I personally think this is a great idea, because then i can get a legit copy and if eveything happens i suggested i can play halo 2 pc with my friends
It’s a nice thought but the chances of updates to such an old game are pretty much zero. Providing updates like the ones you are requesting mean they would need need to devote resources to developing, testing and supporting them (especially for releases through the store). Right now I can’t see this being something 343 would want to devote resources to, especially with Halo 5 updates still to come, supporting halo 5 Forge for PC, Halo Wars 2 and Halo Wars DE launching next month and any other projects they have going on right now.
That is true, and obviously there is a chance it isnt even possible to do so
But halo ce for pc is not developed by bungie, some other studio did it ( cant remember the name) which could also be a solution, let another studio do the work.
Despite the fact that halo CE and PC (1) were made by GearBox (i think that’s the name) I would love this to be a thing as well as Halo 3, then it can be the Halo Trilogy Bundle. Then they should port Halo Reach and even 4 to PC. Halo 5 forge is good enough considering what I have heard about it’s campaign… but hype for halo 6 as well as Halo Trilogy PC. Wait, no, HALO TMCC PC!
