Halo: The Master Bug Collection (Read 343)

> HCEA: While I was playing “Two betrayals” the game blocked when I pressed start, I can see the snow fall down but I can’t continue, it remains at the start menu… I also tried to reject the disk and insert it again but nothing, is it maybe because it’s installing some halo features? Sorry for my bad english!

Guys, I fixed the freeze by restarting the xbox 2 times o,o

I wonder what 343 employees are buying today with all our money

For me, by far the most annoying bug outside of the matchmaking disaster is the integration of the app with the game. Or lack there of. For the love of god, why can’t they just unlock the terminals from the start. Pretty much every terminal I find in H2 opens app, fails to play, fails to unlock, crashes back to game. Even though the achievement pops. The only reliable solution I have found is to play the entire level all over again once you already have the achievement. In any case, extremely frustrating. Fix this!!!

Oh…and that’s funny. No kidding

Completing all Par times on Halo 4 do unlock the correct achievement but unlock the wrong Nameplate (the Halo 3 corresponding nameplate insteed).

Completed H2 on Legendary solo (no scarab gun) and all tiles say it’s done, but the achievo says 97% and none of the nameplates unlocked. However, I got the heroic plate and achievo.

So i got this problem on HALO 4 that i completed the campaign on solo, and i cant unlock the nameplate of ‘‘Complete all halo 4 missions on legendary, by yourself’’

H2. i’m having issues saving game from campaign, I’ll save after a check point and when i pick back up it will re-start me from the beginning of the mission. I’ve checked the other three games and they all save fine it’s just Halo 2. I still have my original H2 game and also tested it on the original and it saves like all the others. it’s a frustrating bug because before i can save i have to finish the current mission which is a pain after I’ve played 2-3 missions.

Just got The game today and it is stuck on the pause menu. I was playing Halo: CE and unlocked the first terminal. After the terminal was over It said that Halo: MCC was downloading something. When the download was over the pause menu was stuck. I can’t restart the game at all. I tried to take the game out and turning off the console but it is still stuck.

When are you going to fix the issues of the campaign? (HCE, H2A, H3, H4)

Achievements locked, slow coop, control Schemes for left handed

H2A: Desync from host. Both you and your host will see your models move around and fight like normal but only the host game actually counts.
Note: If the non-host dies in the host game it will act like normal as if the player died.
Note: If the host completes the mission it will count for the non-host as well
Note: Skull acquisition will not trigger an achievement for the non-host
Note: Loading the next level after completion will re-establish sync.

Same happens to me. On the occasion it does bring me to the save point, my screen is black. Audio and controller response works and I have to re-start the level. Isololated to H2 so far.

Already posted a thread on this, but hey. No shame or pain posting it again, right?

Biggest issue for me is Halo 2 coop. Can’t get past the loading screen before my game drops me out to the main menu. It also says “Connection to the host has been lost”, even though I am the host.

Still having issues with matchmaking at times. Can’t get past the loading screen sometimes before disconnecting completely.

Gee…There’s a pattern here somewhere, right?

A couple bugs I’ve noticed:

  • Save and quit doesn’t work for Halo 2. I have tried numerous times and it just restarts the level I was playing on and doesn’t save my game.
  • In Halo 2 Anniversary, there are some visual/loading issues where enemies/objects will be invisible when coming around a corner, then phase into view after about a second. I have died from a few invisible enemies on Legendary from this.

While not really bugs, two things that would be nice just for convenience would be:

  • Being about to kick people for betrayal in Halo: CE. I have been killed in the back by teammates numerous times for taking the sniper rifle on blood gulch, and it gets tiresome after the 3rd time being punched in the back for a power weapon.
  • In Halo 4, the ability to select load-outs anytime from the start menu just like the 360 release. Small gripe, but only being to able to chose them when re-spawning is an issue.

That’s all I can think of from the top of my head, hope you guys read some of these 343! Keep the fixes coming.

> > - HCEA: Random controller disconnection. This is by far the worst, game-breaking glitch I found. If your controller disconnect 3-4 times during your co-op session, next time you reconnect, the party chat sound won’t be coming through the headset (it’ll be on TV instead). If it disconnect one more time, you will lose all control over your Xbox. The game won’t respond to any button presses on the controller. The game also will register whatever button you pressed last before the disconnection, and continuously doing that. In my case, it register the LS down, so my character is moving backward forever. Since we’re doing co-op and the progress is not save everytime we quit, my partner had to finish the level all by himself while I can only watch.

> > - H2A: There’s a bug when playing Legendary where the Iron skull is activated even though you didn’t manually activate it through the skull screen before starting the game. This make the game unnecessarily difficult as the skull will restart the whole mission if you die playing solo, or restart the checkpoint if you play co-op.
> > - H2A: The IWHBYD skull is bugged. Even after correctly following the “7 checkpoints” guide, there’s a fair amount of time it won’t appear, or in my case it’s there but not visible. So you need to just go to there the location of the skull is and hold RB while hoping you can pick it up. Works for me the second time I tried. Some peoples reporting you need to fight 7 waves of Elites before getting the achievement for the skull, but I personally get the achievement right after I picked it up.

When I go to the main menu and check, the game said I’ve completed “343 Guilty Spark”, but no achievement awarded for supposedly “completing” the level.
> > - Terminals: When unlocking the terminal in the game (in my case it’s HCEA and H2A), the Halo Channel app just froze. Sometimes it just stay on the loading screen forever, and when it does work, the video streamed in SD for around 10-20 seconds before going HD.

> In CE objective markers, particularly in early levels, often don’t appear until a certain amount of time has passed. The intent is for you to find your own way, with the eventual waypoints essentially being automated help. This is as designed, and has been this way since the original release.
> CE co-op respawning has always been the least liberal of the series. While it’s possible there is some glitch here, I doubt it, and you’re probably just used to the co-op respawning in later Halos.
> Level progress has never been saved for co-op levels when exiting mid-mission. Never, in any Halo. By design, not a glitch.
> Regarding Iron, sounds like you’re playing Halo 2 co-op. Halo 2 Legendary has always acted as if Iron was enabled when playing co-op. By design, not a glitch.
> H2 IWHBYD has always been finicky, and no one’s sure exactly how it works. It’s always been down to luck. May have been a glitch in Halo 2, but Bungie never treated it as such and thus in MCC it is by design.
> Not sure about Halo 2 co-op respawning, but like with CE I doubt it’s actually a glitch.

Fair enough for the level progress on co-op, though I remember it saved for the host on 360.

The respawn problem is real, there’s basically no enemies at all around the area. I even goes and explore to see if there’s somehow a hidden enemy or what but no, no one is left other than me.

The mission markers are from the mission Halo. First time we played co-op on Legendary, it does not appear, we played it the second time on same difficulty and it appear. How is that by design? So the design is to randomly turn off the mission markers?

Does Iron get turned on only in co-op? I read that peoples are experiencing the same problem playing solo, which make it much more worse, dying will restart the whole mission. I never played Halo 2 on Legendary before back in the day so I don’t know if it is indeed by design. Seems a lot of peoples complaining about the same thing.

The IWHBYD skull is probably by design, still, I’m posting it up so other people can know what need to be done if they’ve followed all the steps but cannot visually see the skull. That’s all.

Why you doubted someone that have personally experienced these bugs? Because you haven’t experienced them?

Seriously.

What we did most of the time is to both quit the game and the party, and have the host invite the other person to both game and party (if you need the xbox party). However, there’s this one day last week where nothing we’ve done worked. Co-op in other Halo works flawlessly, although there’s lag.

The best solution is to just unlock the terminal, when the app launch, dashboard and switch back to the game and just play until the end. After you’ve unlocked all of the terminals, then you can watch them without interruption.

BTW, Halo Channel performance is the worst. So much lags in UI.

Quitting game on Xbox One is not like on 360. Xbox One is a multitask OS, so whenever you take out the disc, or turning it off while in Instant On mode, the game is still running.

What you need to do to really quit your game is by going to dashboard, highlight the game tile, press the menu button and select Quit. Or if you have other digital game on your Xbox One, you can launch that instead.

Last one would be a hard reset. You need to hold the power button on your console for around 10 seconds before turning it back on again.

Hope this helps.

> So i got this problem on HALO 4 that i completed the campaign on solo, and i cant unlock the nameplate of ‘‘Complete all halo 4 missions on legendary, by yourself’’

I’ve checked your service record and it says that you never completed Forerunner, Infinity and Reclaimer.

I have noticed a really bad checkpoint activation sense the last update. at least with H2A there are several spots that should be unlocking checkpoints but they don’t and the area is safe. I try to get scoring achievements for the levels the arbiter and the oracle but I can’t because I get one checkpoint at the beginning of the level and then don’t the rest of the level. which would be fine if I had the iron skull on but I don’t. and this lack of checkpoints keeps me from getting the IWBYD skull because it doesn’t give me the checkpoints. please fix this so I can continue to get the scoring achievements. Edit- I found out what is causing the checkpoints to not activate and it is the streaking skull. streaking is for those who don’t know your shield slowly decays constantly and recharge slightly with every kill. I don’t know if this is a glitch anymore or if it is suppose to be that way, but if it is suppose to not give you very many checkpoints the scoring multiplier should be increased to 1.30 and it should say that in the description.
