Recently I started to go through the Halo Series, in Chronological order, including books and comics and movies and such. I have just gotten to Halo CE and am playing Anniversary for the first time on the Master Chief Collection. Something new I have noticed in Anniversary is the Terminal Hunt. I have noticed however it is not necessary, unless you are trying for achievements. This is because there is a list of videos in the Extras category and one of them is the Halo terminal videos. I found however that I was able to play them, whether I found them in the game or not. Was this deliberately done, or was that a glitch?
This was intentional, but that feature was only added earlier this year.
For the past 7 years in the MCC, interacting with the terminals in any of the games (except Halo 3) would redirect you to the Halo Channel, a now-defunct app that hasn’t been updated since 2017. Since this app was no-longer used and often didn’t even work, they added the ability to watch terminal videos in-game without the need to unlock them.
It may seem odd, but keep in mind that the collection is 7 years old, and people probably don’t want to go looking for that stuff again.
Ahh the old Halo Channel. Remember when Waypoint was an app back in the 360 days as well?
I was so pumped for Halo Channel in 2014. Nightfall coming out on it, MCC support and updates through it, and then Halo 5 was coming the next year…
Ahhh, simpler and more naïve times lol
Literally, that app was cool! It was kind of fun to see all the RvB shorts, and be able to view achievements, special unlocks and compare your game stats with your friends on the roster!
I must admit I’m secretly hoping they add a new app and integrate it with waypoint, however unlikely that is lol
Yeah, it’s unlikely they will release a new similar app I think. But it would be so cool to have.
I think you still get achievements for them?
