Have you ever been in a regular game of slayer, not trying to do anything special except have a nice time on halo, suddenly you begin to realize that you are carrying your team and that it is a very close game. You plug in your mic so you can try to start communicating with your team, but low and behold that everyone on your team are just squeakers communicating using their kinect mics, their volume on the TV is at 100, and they have you muted. You can feel the tension coming on because this is your ranking game and you don’t want to be stuck at silver. You start pulling out the strategies that you have worked years of watching pros and experience to accomplish. You find the enemy team spawn and clutch it for the win 50-47. I can say with complete certainty that Halo (meaning the series, not just one game) takes much more skill than any COD game because it requires communication, strategies, and balanced weapons.
Firstly, Halo takes much more skill because it requires communication with you team to succeed. In a video by “Faze Jev” who is a COD based youtuber, he picks up a game of Halo 3 and shows him playing it in a video he uploads. He explains that he has played halo’s in the past, but you examine the video itself ( - YouTube ) his gameplay is seriously hindered by him not communicating with his team and not knowing strategies. In the video he makes several mistakes, during a game of Snowbound, one being him muting his teammates during the game and also screaming at them in lobby. Communication between teammates may not always be necessary to win a game, especially is you are only playing for fun, but in competitive gaming you will never see a game where teams are giving callouts to their teammates. Communication is key to winning but not in the case of you screaming at others. Those of you who watch Jev would argue that he is an overall loud player, but they would be wrong because other COD based players like “MERKMUSIC” ( M3RKMUS1C RAGETAGE! - YouTube ) who have never picked up a Halo game in his life is very loud. Also to those who believe that Halo players are loud, I would like to invite them to search up Halo on youtube and see if even one Halo based youtuber is screaming in the video.
Secondly, Halo takes much more skill because it requires strategies. In the same video by “Faze Jev” you also see that he lacks most of Halo’s strategies like strafing and knowing what guns are best at what range. During the video he is playing on The Pit he completely stands in place when he goes for kills, or he walks in only one direction. The enemy picks up on this quickly and completely dominates him. Later in that game he says that he not a good sniper but only good at the BR, at first I thought he meant he was bad at sniper but fine with other guns until a second later when he was trying to kill a player with the AR across the map.
In conclusion, Halo takes much more skill because it requires strategies and communication with teammates to win. COD is more of a run and gun type of game which is very different from Halo. I also wanted to include that I don’t have any problem with COD, it has many aspects that makes it unique from Halo and I can’t argue the fact that some people believe that COD is better than Halo (sales wise lol). Finally, if you research my facts and see that I have done research to support what I have agued, you will see that I am right. Thanks for reading and please quote me and leave your thoughts.

How much ‘still’ does it take?
Epic post utterly ruined by type-o in the title. Halo is very stillful!
cod is disigned for noobs to feel like badasses as soon as they pick up the controller which lowers the skill gap imensely
If you ever played Black Ops 2 league play you’d know CoD requires skill and communication too. BO2 took more skill than H4 and H5 for sure lol. The original trilogy is a different matter.

Is it though? They’ve added a lot of movement in this game.
That Jev guy strikes me as the average CoD player in everyway, and his lack of Halo experience shows.
The thing about Halo… it has a different pace and flow that is difficult to get the feel of. It takes practice and the will to get better. My brother has tried Halo 5 after sticking mainly to CoD since MW2. He said something along the lines that he “didn’t like H5 because it was too difficult and he kept dying.” That sounds like what that Jev guy is saying as well, along with many other gamers that share similar feelings, I’m sure. But… THIS does not mean Halo 5 is a bad game!
A lot of people like to blame something/someone else before themselves… To me Halo is a very appealing game. It has depth. I enjoy its gameplay much more than CoD… it demands a more consistent shot, a high priority on positioning and teamwork, calculated decision-making, a careful balance of playing a more controlled, passive game and making more aggressive, coordinated pushes… it is a CHALLENGING game, and I like that. Like a sport, you could write a playbook for various strategies on each map… Not many people see it that way, and it takes time to develop that kind of appreciation towards the game, at least, it did for me… Then again, it was the game I grew up with, so as I grew, so did my mind.
But with that time and practice playing the game, at the same time, your physical skills will improve as well, your shot, your map and situational awareness… how to move around the map, etc. I have played Halo with friends from time to time over the years, people that like games but never got very involved with them, and time and time again, they got wrecked lol. It’s a much harder game to pick up and play. All of these points considered, THEY are part of what makes Halo great and stand above the rest… but the gaming industry and market has changed a lot since the mid 2000’s. People want instant-gratification more than ever… and Halo is no longer the IT game to have, and people have gravitated towards easier games/experiences to pick up and play.

Everyone knows the less you move the more stills you have.

If you mean classic Halo then yes classic Halo does but if you mean modern Halo then no because there about the same.

Modern Halo and CoD are about as much the same as “there” and “they’re”.

Funny and yet Modern CoD/Halo are most commonly seen as similar, isn’t seen as facts that can’t be changed.

Yeah, Infinite Warfare certainly does look a lot like Halo.

That’s funny until you realise it’s true, I know what you’re doing but after seeing Infinite War is does actually look like modern Halo.

Alright, fine:
Halo 5:
-Equal Starts
-No loadouts
-No armor abilities
-No perks
-No ordinance drops
-Power Weapons on maps
-Power Ups on maps
-No flinch
-Descope
-Emphasis on teamplay (not lil Rambo’s)
-No killcams
^ That is the most like Halo 3 we’ve had since … Halo 3.
And so what’s that leave us? Sprint, ADS, and I assume you can slide in CoD? I don’t know, I haven’t played it in like 8 years. It’s just about sprint. That’s all it is. CoD’s doing a sci-fi thing now, much their own detriment, no fault of Halo’s. But they make a Halo game that plays like Halo 3 with sprint, so it’s CoD. I understand that sprint is an illusion, I know how it works, yada yada, I understand the difference between the two and I personally would have no problem with a new sprintless Halo, so no need for a sprint debate. But sprint doesn’t make it CoD.
I mean its your opinion that this game takes more skill than call of duty

Load-out’s and flinch still exist.

Not in Arena. I’m not talking about Warzone, that’s its own crazy social unbalanced large scale chaos mode thingy. I’m talking about your standard Slayer & BTB that we’ve had since CE. Flinch was in the beta and removed for the final game after everyone yelled at them. You can’t have flinch AND descope, that’d be ridiculous.

Its not opinion though. Its law like gravity.
