Here I analyzed what little info we have on the next Halo game to come up with some feasible theories as to what we might expect in the next Halo installment. Please share your thoughts. Do you think I am way off base, or is it at least conceivable?
It sounds conceivable to me. I think that most people are convinced that MC is on the Ark. I think there may also be Flood involvement, and I’m wondering if the Isodidact will be in the game (maybe he is the owl thing), because in the Rebirth story, which I thought took place after Silentium, Isodidact was still alive.
I don’t think we will see the Flood in the next installment. I think it is more likely that we will see a Forerunner Army with the Didact at the helm. He will be bent on our complete destruction. With the trouble we had with the Covenant, how would we fair against a threat like that?
I myself also believe that MC is on the Ark … or rather the remains of it. I think he has returned there for some reason. The surface of that desert world with its very iconic mountains looks a lot like the Ark and the planetoid in the background doesn’t even have the same colors but similar cracks on the surface as the planetoid you saw in the center of Halo 3’s Ark. And well, the Ark was damaged, not destroyed by the Halo ring. And I suppose that huge phoenix is actually a Guardian Sentinel. If that bird closes its wings I think it might look pretty similar to a Guardian Sentinel.
I thought that somehow the Didact was teleported back to Requiem when he fell into that slipspace portal on his ship. Coz the Promethean brain on Requiem contained memories from New Phoenix although the Didact’s ship was destroyed. And that teleporting artifact was also on Earth and somehow managed to survive and return to Requiem. However, since Requiem is destroyed and there wasnt even a hint of the Didact, I dunno.
And the Forerunners were so few in number that I don’t think they could revive their race. And the Precursors were all extinct as well. So the only remaining threat would be that Halsey-M’dama Alliance. 343industries hasn’t given many hints at what is to come for the Halo storyline
I think Mendicant Bias will be involved, and Chief is reaching out to it for help with recovering Cortana not only from her supposed death, but also from Rampancy, seeing as Bias recovered from Rampancy himself. Chief may find both halves of the Janus Key and use that to find the Absolute Record, which could turn out to be Mendicant Bias himself seeing as the Didact was intended to guide humanity but things didn’t go quite to plan.
Halo: Atonement could be the title.
Mendicant Bias was buried on the Ark as well, so he could be a major importance in the story. He could be the connection to the Precursors we’ve been waiting for.
