Halo story and the directions its going...

I have a big question as to why we havent run into the flood yet in halo 4 and halo 5? I understand that some didnt like the flood and others did. I however enjoyed the battles against the flood… my question is where did they go because i feel like the gravemind didnt die in halo 3 and the main focus of the halo stories were to battle the flood as well as the prometheans. To have a big war against the prometheans and the flood would make for one of the most intense war games! Please if you could clear this up 343 that would be awesome! Im just asking for some history that made these games what they are now!

PS Im just curious as to what happened with Lord Hood of tge UNSC and the ship master that helped the arbiter lead the covenant?

Thanks!

There are likely flood
in reaearch facilities on halos yet to be found. If you haven’t seen the legendary ending yet

It ends with humming and a halo coming online. Likely flood on this installation

The Flood will return but the galaxy isn’t ready to face them yet. They barely survived a minor containment leak, so fighting the extragalactic Flood in their prime is something they are not even remotely ready for.

That is very interesting and that legendary ending i did see i did not however pay the attention i should have to it so if the flood is in this next one i cant wait! And as far as an extreme amount of flood enemies go i doubt they can handle another but blue team and osiris will be able to hold their own! It will be quite intense if thats the case!!!

There is always the possibility of the Flood returning, but I think the particular Gravemind from Halo 2 and 3 is gone. There are plenty of places the flood were being studied that could still be active so another outbreak could happen.

As to why they haven’t met with the Flood yet, I have no answer; however, now that we are in face of a completely reorganized Galaxy we may be faceing the possible return of the Flood, last time they came in force there was a race oppressing the others, now… well, we may be facing that same situation all over again.

The galaxy is not ready for the flood yet. They are an endgame thing. Rtas Vadum will appear in the novel shadow of intent in less than a month. Terrance hood might not have appeared in games lately because Ron Pearlman is rather busy.

Before you say that their not ready to face the flood, keep in mind that they learned from the mistakes of the forerunners, and their own encounters with it. Infection Warzone mode is training IVs to deal with it, plus you can bet ONI is working on a solution of sorts.

Just because the Forerunners failed doesn’t mean that the UEG will.

How has the UEG demonstrated they have learned from the Forerunners? They have not been able to develop a healthy relationship with their own Outer Colonies, they have little to no contact with former Covenant species outside of the Arbiter and his faction and possibly some Kig-Yar mercenaries. The only humans who do seem to be willing to work with former Covenant species are the insurrectionists. Spartan-IVs would fare no better against the Flood than Warrior-Servants, you can’t put all your chips on them. No doubt ONI is working on something, but I doubt they’ll do better than the Builders who either abandoned systems to the Flood with Burns and create the Halos that sacrificed billions of lives.
