After speaking with a few people and thinking it over, I had an interesting concept for a spinoff game. Or, I hope it’s interesting. I’m posting it here as I’m not sure where I should post it, I don’t use the forums often.
Halo: Solemn Dawn
You play a Kig-Yar privateer who gets hired by ONI to steal or sabotage a Covenant remnant’s vessel, the Solemn Dawn, and steal back stolen forerunner-based UNSC tech. Main Character is a T’vaoan and the other three players/characters are Ruutian.
The missions consist of ‘raids’ on the ship where you dock at a port and force/hack your way in, and from there go through the ship sneaking and/or fighting your way through.
My ideas for the characters are:
Lek Alv: Main Character and Captain, he is the main character and first player’s character. He usually starts with a Type 31 Needle Rifle and either a T-25 Plasma Rifle paired with a point-defense gauntlet, or a Kig-Yar Energy Cutlass. He has more health than the others.
Afva 'Kei: Second player in a multiplayer game, or AI Team-mate. She is the demolitions person, and starts with full grenades. Her weapons consist of a T-54 plasma pistol /w Shield Gauntlet, and a T-50 concussion rifle.
Rek Tah: The third player, or AI Team-mate, he is just an average soldier-turned-privateer. He uses a T-51 Carbine and a T-25 Plasma Pistol. His weapons start with extra charge, when played by a player. AI Weapons don’t lose charge, in most halo games.
Liv Yat: The Sniper. Fourth player in the game, or Ai team-mate. He uses a T-27 Beam Rifle and a T-51 Carbine. He gets an extra .5 to his zoom from being the sniper.
You could also make it have two endings… one where the Kig-Yar complete the job and receive another contract from ONI or another where the Kig-Yar abscond with the goods to sell it for themselves (a little Venezian entrepreneurship). Either one leads to a possible sequel

I was just thinking this could be like a mass effect or BioWare like game where you make choices throughout that define the ending you get, like good vs. self enterprising choices shall we say lol
First off, I don’t want to be “that guy” but even thinking the idea made me feel like it.
It would be cool having the game build up, maybe you build up you’re ship into a bad -Yoink- pirate vessel. Then at the end you get the “General Shepard” treatment; on the last leg of the game ONI flips and tries to double cross your team. Escape!

That is one of the possible endings I had as an idea. Essentially there are two ending types: The “Free” endings and the “ONI” endings.
Free Endings:
You give ONI what they wanted and escape before they double-cross you.
You give ONI what they wanted and more, they pay you and keep you on tabs for later use.
You give ONI what they want and negotiate another privateering contract to continue fighting covenant remnants on ONI’s behalf.
ONI Endings:
You get caught trying to steal the goods, your team makes a last stand in a disabled ship with rapidly depressurizing stations, either dying to ONI agents or the void of space.
You are double-crossed by ONI and imprisoned/killed.
Your team is made paranoid by ONI spooks, and Lek Alv is killed in a mutiny, then the privateer band falls apart under less-than-adequate leadership.
