Years after the ceasefire of 2552, a UNSC Exploratory vessel stumbles across a planet.
They discover that the planet, dubbed Spherite, is inhabited by Humans, living together with Humanoid creatures called Chimera. Human looking creatures with distinct animal traits of all varying shapes and sizes.
They live on Spherite in a Medieval Era. Villages, Castles and Towns can be found all across the planet, their inhabitants using swords and shields to fight and defend themselves. Knights in heavy metal armor, tyrannical armies dressed in a similar fashion to Roman legions and everything else that one would think to find in an Era such as this.
On top of this discovery, Forerunner structures and ruins dot the landscape of the entire planet, engrained into the cultures of the people living there. With a few cities even living inside the ancient structures.
The UNSC sends a small Battle Group, outfitted for research and exploration. Nothing more than curiosity and fascination driving them. However planned missions to research this fascinating planet, its people and their culture aren’t given the chance to even begin.
Hours after the vessels arrive in system, the Covenant Remnant, who have gotten wind of this monumental discovery, attack the UNSC ships. After a long drawn out fight with a Reverence Class Cruiser and other Covenant ships, the UNSC manage to win the battle. But the fight has taken a heafty tole on the exploratory ships.
With two Frigates destroyed, and a Carrier having taken a devastating hit to its engines. The UNSC is forced to delay its exploration of Spherite and pull back for repairs and refit. To stay would risk being destroyed if the Remnant attack again.
During the battle, 2 UNSC escape pods and a damaged Albatross are detected entering the atmosphere of Spherite.
The Carrier needs to transition to Slip Space now, or they’ll be walking home. Refusing to leave the survivors to fend for themselves, the Carrier deploys a Spartan to the surface of Spherite to gather the survivors and ensure their safety until a larger Battle Group can return.
Halo: Spherite, is the story of those survivors and their adventures.
Im basicly looking for more readers, reviews and general thoughts on the story.
I’ve been working on it for 3 years now, but its only just hitting its stride.
A deployment to Afghanistan and 3 surgeries on my shoulder have set me back a bit.
But I want people to love this story as much as i love writing it.
And for you romantics out there, there’s more than a bit of that in this story
Hopefully i caught your attention and you’re interested. It can be found here; https://m.fanfiction.net/s/6856264/1/Halo-Spherite
