(An idea that came to my mind a while back, decided to do something with that idea that might sound like an interesting idea…tell me what you think.)
Halo: Silver Spade
Overview
Halo: Silver Spade would take place during the spring of 2536 on an Outer-Colony planet (couldn’t think of a cool name, yet). The Covenant have glassed numerous outer colonies in their goal to wipe humanity from the galaxy. In Halo: Silver Spade you play as a Spartan-II (Couldn’t think of a name/or think of a character that could fit the roll without conflicting with anything. I would be fine with a new Spartan-II character though) dawned in final production Mjolnir Mark IV armor; standing as one of the primary threats to the Covenants’ success. During the campaign, you will go on various missions across the planet as well as the planet’s two moons; taking on multiple Covenant units lead by a Sangheili Supreme Commander; similar in fashion to the Halo: Reach campaign, albeit with a bit more grim and cinematic tone to it. Making the story feel ever more like a depressing war-torn movie (except this one takes place over five centuries in the future).
Characters
The characters I can think of so…
- The Spartan-II you play as in the campaign (Can’t think of a name yet) - Another Spartan-II who will help you on the occasion on some missions (preferably one who has already been established in lore) - A Captain/Commander character (Like the Keyes’ and Laskey) - Aurora, a Smart-AI that helps you though out the story. (she would resemble that of a 1950s mountain climber with a fur-trim hooded winter jacket and would be projected in a similar purple color to Halo CE Cortana) - A Sangheili Supreme Commander (Can’t think of a name yet), who would be the main antagonist of the story - A Sangheili Field Marshal (again with the naming), who would be the secondary antagonist as well as the right-hand of the Supreme Commander
Climates
The climates and locations you will see though out the campaign may include: Highland Mountain Ranges, Sandy Deserts, Dense Forests, Coastal Beaches, Lush Jungles, High-Rise Metro Mega Cities, and of course it wouldn’t be a Halo Game without some kind of Forerunner Structure.
Gameplay
You would have a health and shield system similar to Halo: Reach.
Gunplay being inline with what Halo 5 and soon to be Halo Infinite Smart-Scope system.
Movement would be something in line with a more down-to-earth Halo 5 (which I guess is what Halo Infinite is going for)
Enemies:
You can expect to see all your typical Covenant species members and ranks.
Elites: All elites ranks ranging from the Minors up to the Ultras, along with specialist as well.
Brutes: All brutes ranks from Minor to War Chieftains, along with specialist as well.
Jackals: All Three jackal sub species are present as well as the corresponding ranks and classes( this time with a bit of a twist)
The ‘Ruuhtian’ sub-species will operate as the snipers we know them as, and as well as low level shield-wielding infantry units
The ‘Ibie’shan’ sub-species will make up the bulk of shield-wielding infantry units
The ‘T’vaoan’ sub-species will operate as enforcers and scouts (similar to Halo: Reach)
Grunts: All grunts ranks and specialist roles as well
Hunters: They come in pairs of two, no more no less. Same giant worm-filled golems we’ve come to know.
Weapons:
Weapons would do pretty much the same song and dance we’ve come to know: AR is your good old reliable automatic rifle, Magnum as your sidearm, BR as your burst fire precision weapon, the SPNKR is a rocket launcher, ect.
I also have a few new weapon ideas…
UNSC:
“The Kickback”: a 6-shot ‘revolver-hand canon’ type weapon that offers amazing damage and is head-shot capable with a trade off of having relatively high recoil and relatively low rate of fire. Each shot must be manually reloaded into the swing-out cylinder one-by-one (similar to the shotgun). As long as you make every shot count, the Kickback will not disappoint.
Covenant:
“Type-30 Plasma Pult”: a plasma mortar, the same type of weapon used on the ‘Type-26 Wraith’ and the ‘Type-48 Revenant’, has been downscaled to be allowed to be carried by specialist infantry units such as Sangheili or Jiralhanae. It runs off of a battery, much like many other plasma-base weapons, and allows for a total of 8 shots before it’s battery is depleted. It functions relatively the same as the Wraith and Revenants’ mortar, albeit with a faster rate of fire and weaker damage.
Brute (just because):
“Type-30 Skull-Spike”: while most brute infantry prefer to use close quarter weapons or weapons that offer high damage for a sense of ‘overkill’, some brutes prefer to use a more precision based weapon as such. The Skull-Spike is a semi-auto 12 shot precision weapon with a rotating magazine that fires a twisted molten spike (similar to the Type-25 Spiker) at a high velocity speed. It is best used at medium-long range, though just like the BR55 and the Type-51 Carbine, it also works well at close ranges. Like many other brute-made weapons, it features a long and angled tungsten bayonet to deal with anyone foolish enough to get within striking distance.
What do you think? Tell me what you though and would you like to see 343 do something like this? Let me know.
