Halo:Silentium The next forerunner book?

On Greg bears discussion board he has been referring to the next forerunner book as Silentium. Obviously he can’t talk about it but he never used a phrase or anything as such, he would just say “I can’t talk about it”. “Silentium” is a place where quite is imposed like a library, so could this actually be the title for the next book or unnecessary wording for him not being able to talk?

The name goes in hand with Requiem so it seems to be a possibility, I think we will all like the name better once we get some cover art and details on the plot.

Yeah I saw that he had been referring to it as that lately.

The possibilities are endless. Could be referring to The Precursors silent patience, Requiem, some secret kept quiet, etc. It sucks since it doesn’t seem like we’ll be getting much information on it for a while. Still very excited for it, though.

Right when I heard that from his site, I instantly believed that to be the true name. Mainly because I connected Silentium to the state of the galaxy once the Halos were fired.

this book has a lot of explaining to do…

To me it sounds like it’s imposing the silence after the halo’s are fired, how no one is alive and just… space. So maybe the plot takes place or at least the majority of the plot takes place after the halo’s fire?

The Title could be a reference to the Forerunners and how after the Halo Array was fired the Galaxy went Silent. It may then explain Requiem

It’s just a joke from Greg. He means Halo: Silentium as in: “I can’t say anything yet.”

EDIT: Wow, he actually uses the name a lot now on his board. o_O

DP, sorry. :frowning:

Silentium obviously linguistically matches to ‘silent.’ So what in this time in the Halo Universe could be described as silent…?

I’d put my money on the galaxy after the first Halo Event. Makes sense in my mind, but I’m no expert, so…

Interesting idea. Man, just thinking about what it would be like after the galaxy is devoid of life and everything is quiet… gah, this book’s gonna be tearjerking, I can just tell. Especially if we read about the Didact’s last transmissions to his wife…
