Not blue team… silver team…
Let’s not exaggerate that show.
Did you see any of the CGI monsters or Luke Skywalker or any of the fights with lasers? Both of these shows don’t have perfect CGI, but I think both are good compared to lower-budget films.
I just felt at that moment, I knew the show was written by idiots who are gonna insult the franchise.
Silver Timeline? Black Keyes? British Halsey? I don’t give a LICK about those. If it’s Silver Timeline, I wanna see some MAJOR differences. Unexplored territory. Marvel’s What If.
Lol nope, just show writers being idiots.
Here’s how I would have written it:
-
Kurt is the Master Chief in this timeline, and he goes Awol
-
The other 3 Spartans are tasked to hunt him down, and they are assigned a 4th member, a really skilled Spartan III, a headhunter who has alotta black ink. (Who else, duh. Reach hasn’t fallen yet either so he’s still around)
-
John 117 having failed his augmentations is now an officer serving the role filled by Musa in canon. He’s still well respected and can fight really well due to his training, but he’s not our canon John.
-
Maybe the Covenant in this timeline isn’t entirely adverse to letting Humans join the Covenant either, so we eventually meet some “Covenant Spartans” of which UNSC is worried that Kurt-Chief would defect to.
There’s so much potential if you rewrite all of this into a What If scenario so absolutely warped it’s a new story and justifies itself as a new timeline.
If this is really an interesting new story that completely jumps out of the existing framework, I will also be interested.
Now all the show has done is ruin my impression of the old characters, and the battles and lines are boring.
To be honest, if the director and screenwriter of this show is really talented enough to write an attractive new story, they are naturally confident that without the old characters like Master Chief Miranda, the fame of the halo is enough.
I’ve been hoping to see odst again after 343 screwed up the story of legitimate games, but there’s no such thing.
I’m still waiting to see a couple more episodes to give proper judgement on the story. But one thing I can say without a doubt about the TV show, is that I am way more interested to see what happens in the next episode more so than the next Season or DLC for Infinite.
lol I heard it, “Commander Shepard, you are needed in the Skyllian Response Center.”
mandalorian is 30 mins long so halo has less than half the budget if what you say is ccorrect.
Can you at least wait six months before talking about the show…. Some of us can’t watch it legitimately yet.
Your like that guy that goes into work the next day and tells everybody about an episode that not everybody has seen.
I’m guessing you never read the rules!

I’m aware, which is why i got worried when i saw her in the trailers. She was a pretty minor character before Kilo-V but its clear the show wants her for more than that.
I live in the UK so I’m not allowed to watch it.
The show is ok, i wish the Covenant prophets spoke english like in halo 2. It just sounds awful with them speaking alien.
vpn is $3.50/year, Nord vpn. Thats all u have to do bud.
I was hoping it would reflect infinte a bit more
-
Characters magically disappearing and reappearing in diffrent areas
-
Being able to kill an enemy when they have ran round a corner
-
Soldiers just standing there during a battle and then being allowed to do the same in numerous following battles
-
Soldiers not trying to actually win a battle as they are to busy trying to earn unrelated medals
-
I wish it was in black and white and I had to pay a small fortune to get it in colour !!!

Dude, that’s what has you up in arms?
Just don’t watch the show.
Why is this in the Halo infinite thread? The show has about as much to do with Infinite as it does with the rest of Halo.
I had the same thought, although i did actually enjoy the show. Its almost tradition for screen adaptations to be poorer than the VG source but with Infinite being a broken pile of garbage attached to a store front, this could be the first case where the transfer to a different medium wasn’t worse.
That said, i loved the fact the game was so well represented in the opening scene. The way the general was emptying that minigun into the elites as the the just casually strolled in through the gate, then later in the scene the MC picks the same gun up and immediately slaughtered them (after getting back smacked twice by the energy sword wielding elite) really did make me feel like i was watching a regular battle in Halo. Full of Desync.
I don’t get the hate for Keyes being black. Although Miranda looks like she is about 17, daddy must have pulled all the strings to get his daughter in to such a position at such a young age.
The CG was pretty lame. The amazing stretching spartan reminded me a bit of the old CGI from 90’s movies. The Elites were… different.
Overall 7/10.
Which is great! More UNSC bad!
Because frankly it is an Imperialist state bent on subjugating colonies that literally just want to govern themselves. So bent on that, it makes supersoldiers.
Couldnt agree more.
I was shocked when i heard the writers have never played the games or read the books. It shows.
What felt most odd to me…was the technological level humanity seems to be at… The UNSC has never been able to communicate in real time across vast stretches of space. But in this show they can remotely control everything aboard a ship and a Spartan’s armour…then why have Spartans at all…just use people to remotely control droids and take the human risk to life element out of the equation…the show has not been thought through at all.
I’m not getting a VPN, and I shouldn’t have to.
Edit: also they don’t work. My brother paid for one and only Amazon worked, everything else was still region locked, and also they aren’t nearly as secure as people think. No thanks.
The silver line is mc and other spartins lack control and unable to make decisions and their past is locked.
This is bad writing one main audience knows the back story so have John dig in his past won’t be shock when he finds out he was kidnapped and done experiment on. We be like da, it just make John look stupid saying you took this long realize that you and other spartins different.
Ok now what John either has say ok and accept it or go join rebel army even though most of them died off. It’s just stupid.
From a storytelling and writing standpoint, the events of the episode happened a little too fast and without much reason. So many side plots and characters were introduced that it felt overwhelming and didn’t give us enough time to invest the characters. I understand that the first episode is meant to provide a brief introduction to the world and who the major characters are, but I feel as if it could have been done a little better.
Perhaps the first episode could have just been about the Madrigal mission and Silver Team recovering the artifact. That would have given the audience time to get to know the Spartans and the Innies better while moving the plot along. The show has the same problems as The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett: both shows move quickly without giving the audience a reason to get emotionally attached to the main characters.
Overall, I think the first episode was fine, certainly not perfect but not awful either. It needed to be more concise and take it its time with everything. However, since the second season got greenlit before the first one even came out., it’s safe to assume that there will be no improvements or changes made.
