I am having trouble connecting to the halo 4 server. This happens after playing about 1 game. My level is reset and spartan ops becomes unavailable. So after every game I have to restart my xbox. How do i fix this?
I unfortunately don’t know a fix, but I know information and terms that might help you find one.
What seems to be happening is that your game is going into “fallback mode”. For some reason, you aren’t fully able to connect to the Matchmaking servers, so the game switches to a kind of emergency connection. Most of your game data (rank, loadouts) isn’t available in fallback mode, but you do have access to a set of fallback playlists. I think it’s 343i’s attempt at making sure people can play even when they can’t download all the data they need from the server.
Once you regain the ability to connect to the servers normally, it can take up to ten minutes for your copy of the game to become aware of this. Restarting your game forces an early re-check, as you’ve noticed.
So yeah. Fallback mode. I know this isn’t much of a help, but I hope it’s better than nothing.
