Halo: SA crashes XB1

( I looked for a previous thread for this, but could not find one for xb1) I purchased halo spartan assault for my Xbox one yesterday. I began playing today, and in the less than hour I’ve played it, I’ve had it crash twice. I was skeptical about buying this game already since I wasn’t terribly impressed by H4, but figured it would be a nice diversion.

First crash was on level, A3 I believe, in which I was escorting the wolverines. When I intersected one? Crash.
The second time was on B1 if I recall, and upon death, when I tried to reload, it crashed.

I’m very much regretting the $15 I spent on this.

It was buried a few pages back, but here’s a thread about crashes on SA Xbox One. The thread was locked because the crashes were supposed to be fixed by this Content Update. I would suggest answering the questions 343i asked in the old thread:

> What mission were you playing?
> What happened right before it crashed?
> Did it freeze or return you to the dashboard?
> Has it happened again since your initial report?
> Are you currently unable to complete a mission because of this?

As I understand Xbox One updates, you can still play the old version while the update downloads. Maybe you are still playing the old version. Unfortunately, I don’t see a way to check what version you’re running. From the link above, it sounds like you should not be able to avoid the Content Update. If you have Instant-On and Automatic Updates turned on, the game may have updated silently while the Xbox was “off.”

As MathGuy42 stated, the Content Update for Spartan Assault on Xbox One was released on 2.19.14. It contained what we believe to be a fix for assorted game crashes. If you could please answer these questions, it would help with our investigation:

  • Have you downloaded the Content Update?
  • Has it happened again since your initial report?
  • Are you currently unable to complete a mission because of this?

We hope the reason we haven’t heard back from you is because your issue has been resolved. If your issue has not been resolved, please start a new thread. Thank you so much!
