I think they should have another Halo Ring thats important to the story since it’s called Halo afterall. What do you guys think?
YES. I’ve been saying ever since Halo 4 that halo should go back to its roots, and by that I meant of course, the Halo rings.
No. We had three games deal with the Halo Array. Its time for something new.
Of course there should be, just as long as the purpose of the rings in the new plot isn’t the same as the previous trilogy.
For one mission maybe, all the best stories in Halo don’t involve the rings, like First Strike, ODST, Ghosts of Onyx, etc.
Yes as long as the plot leads to one then yes. Maybe for a mission or two.
Certainly. Have the Didact flee to a Halo mid game and attempt to activate it or something. Or have a research lab on one of the Halos that you are going to for some reason.
Just a side note, but didn’t installation 3 make a cameo in Halo 4?
I also would really like to see another Halo ring again.
I always liked the mystery and the intrigue that came with the rings

Mission 7, Composer.
> Just a side note, but didn’t installation 3 make a cameo in Halo 4?
Yes, Infinity moved the Composer from the Ring to the research station. You hear the monk chant when you see it.
Installation 07 is certainly significant, but I’d like to go to Installation 03 in Season 2 of Spartan Ops.

If there ever will be one. 343 said at their RTX panel that they currently have no plans for a second season of Spartan Ops (although Frank O’Connor did go on to say the story of Crimson and Majestic is not over. Spin off game maybe?)

I would love to see Halo have two franchises that alternate years.
One could support Infinity and other innovative game types, and the other could support the classic “core” game play.
would be intressting but we pretty much know everything about the rings purpose now unless it hides more secrets.

Just because the primary function is no longer a mystery doesn’t mean that you can’t use them to drive plot or simply serve as majestic set pieces.

What does this have to do with Halo rings?

It was a direct response to the quoted comment…

Well jul’s target dosen’t seem to be the rings unless the janus keyes leads them to a ring. but i don’t know i would love to re visit it.

Unless he has learned how to initiate a directed pulse, i would hope he isn’t targeting them, as he now knows the purpose of the rings.
The impact of the rings is far from over. If you listen to the audio logs on the mission Composer, you hear this from the tube housing the Activation Index.
Tim: “OK… Specimen 2006…”
Tim: “Artifact is believed to be the Activation Index for Gamma Halo, based on anecdotal information from Alpha and Delta Halo mission logs.”
Tim: “Key component in the activation and firing of the Halo weapon, a few of us have been speculating lately if it has secondary and tertiary purposes as well.”
Tim: “Theories still forthcoming.”
The Index having more than one purpose, ie firing the rings, seems intriguing to me and odd to include if there are no plans to revisit the rings again. Also remember the purpose of the Infinity was to find the other rings so they can be decommissioned. Then we have to remember Installation 07 from the Halo novel Primordium and the huge role it played, the last surviving Halo ring from the initial 12, the home of the Primordial, seriously now.
