I love Halo releases. To me, they’ve always seemed like a world-wide huge sleepover. We all love the suspense and buildup leading to the release, but nothing compares to that first night of gameplay. It’s that one night where everyone you know is online pulling an all-nighter eating junk food (hopefully Halo-themed!) and playing Halo, trying out new maps and gametypes for the very first time. Everyone online is friendly and excited, and the cocky attitudes with strangers haven’t set in yet.
Everything is fresh and new, and every time a new friend jumps into the lobby, the first thing out of there mouth is “omg did you see when…” and it’s just an overall great experience.
Unfortunately, these nights only come once every few years, and we’re likely to not have another one for another 2-3 years. It’s sad, but it only makes the night just that much more special.
Being an adult now, I don’t really have too much time to pull all-nighters with work and such. However, Halo releases will always take precedence over responsibilities ;P.
I just wanted to say that I really look forward to November 6th, and I hope to see you all online. I’m going to make it one awesome night. How about you?

You sir, have just defined one of my every thoughts about Halo.
Unfortunately for me, Halo is never released on a weekend, so High School comes first. It’s only been twice for me with a midnight launch.
When I was in High School I’d still go to school, but I’d be sure to stay up all night as well. Was pretty tired half-way through the day, but it wasn’t anything an energy drink couldn’t fix

I’m finally out of HS, lol my friends were always the ones skipping class or the whole day just to buy a game. “oh mw3 out blops got rc car, I’m heading out in the morning” lol…
I personally wouldn’t skip for a game.
When I gt my hands on H4, I will be flying out of my socks (though I rarely wear them around the house xD) guess that means I’ll have to wear some.
i agree this will be my 2nd time since reach to play on opening day, invasion blew my mind in reach, i have played since halo 1 but now that i have a job i can get the console the LE on the same midnight release and i have never had this excitement before, i just feel sorry for this kids who have to wait till christmas to play
Finally. Someone that isn’t such a negative nancy around here. You deserve my Thanks for not being a negative nancy. Yes, I’m quite looking forward to it though when I preordered, I was cheap and went with the standard free shipping so I won’t get it after release until a week later.

Damn , what a well written statement. This honestly made my heart melt into butter.
All that you’ve said is true, can’t wait untill 12:59 a.m November 6th EST when I pop in that Halo 4 disc and go right into Multiplayer. The reason I won’t pop it in at 12:00 a.m Est is because I won’t pre-order.
BTW you should’ve saved this post for the night before release when everyone would be filled with excitement after the long wait.

OP should copy and paste his post into a word document, save it, then post it again the night before…
Actually OP, you should totally do that. I also feel that Halo releases are like giant parties. The only problem? My friends seem to have a condition that gives them the compulsion to play online games that are easy to master (CoD). In the words of one of my friends; “It’s so easy to be good at.”.
Every Halo release they’ve bought the game, played for a bit, complained it’s too hard(WTF?!?!?!) then moved onto the latest CoD piece of crap.
Then they complain that I don’t go out and buy CoD…sighs
