Halo release day traditions!

Ever since Halo CE on the Xbox release day, me and my younger brother have sat down and played through the campaign for every Halo game since. This one is no different, except two of his housemates will also be tagging along with us as cannon fodder.

Gonna pile up some Monster, some Stellas and maybe a Pizza Hut with four TVs in his flat for a huge sesh starting around midday. I’m buzzing just thinking about it.

Does anybody else here have a similar Halo tradition?

Play until I finish, doesn’t matter what happens the next day, I’ll call in sick.

Once I edge towards the end of my marathon, I’ll probably order some Dominoes, stock up on Game Fuel and hopefully have a friend to play the last few missions of Halo 3 with me. Then I’ll go to work, take off a few hours early, then head to the midnight release at gamestop.

Hit the multiplayer first at midnight!

I always start in forge, and test/play with EVERYTHING.

I just play through campaign on legendary (solo). I sometimes play multiplayer in-between.

Pick up console at midnight and my friends and drive back to my flat.

Play campaign on legendary first with my visibility set to offline but with friends on LAN and separate TVs, play a few custom games with my friends/team, go into matchmaking, only sleep when fearing my heart will give out from too much caffeine.

I have the week off work and its going to be fantastic. Got a few things going on that week but main priority will be learning how to halo 4.

Just started a new job that gives me 2 crates of beer free each month so the LAN party could be fairly interesting on the Tuesday/Wednesday!

Going to the midnight launch, picking up my copy, racing back to my house (hopefully no speeding tickets lol) and try to be one of the first people in matchmaking since I’m on the east coast of the USA.

This is always my tradition, well at least with Halo, I don’t even touch any other mode in the game until I complete the Campaign. I’m sure I’m not the only one who does this, I think it’s because I love the Halo story and the Campaign in this series has always been so much fun.

And this couldn’t have gone here why now?

Same here. I always play the campaign before starting a game.

You’re so mean, Dave.

I third this. Campaign before MP, it’s how i’ve always done things.

Of course with all the new changes to the Halo 4 sandbox, i am going to be testing everything in customs before jumping into the online battlefield. I REALLY need to know if there is any BS combinations or exploitable spots on maps. If i am going to rage, i’d at least want to know why.

I buy the game for the story, but I stay for the multiplayer. Need I say more?

Why clutter the Forums when there’s already a thread discussing the exact same thing?

me and my brother play system link co-op and put $20 each on the table. First one to get to killed by a marine or other friendly AI walks away with $40.

As crazy as it sounds I always make sure to have the day off for Halo and I get to the store where I have it preordered before they open and spend they whole day at the front of the line holding spots for a few friends

Open that bich up play the fuk out of it!

Play campaign through all the way until I even think about hitting multiplayer. I always feel like campaign is a good place to learn about the new physics, weapons, etc. so that you’re more prepared when you hit multiplayer.
