So I just turned on my xbox one and it started downloading a 600mb update for the 360 version of Halo Reach (and Dead Space 2).
A bit confused by this. Anyone know why there would be an update for such an old game? I’ve tried looking it up on google but no mention of it.
It happens every now and then. Usually just patches from the Xbox 360 servers. There are no actual updates for the game itself. I get that same “update” once every few months or so.

Got it on the Xbox One, backwards compatible version as well. Was pretty curious about it.

Not even a fix for the Waypoint armor bug that’s been plaguing the game for 2 months now?

The armor is meaningless, what’s important is the state of the actual legacy game servers. Any update on those? The repair from a couple months ago seemed to function briefly but the same problems with matchmaking returned shortly thereafter(at least in Reach, I don’t play the other legacy titles but see that there are still issues with them).

Just because the armor isn’t important to you doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be fixed. There’s no reason they can’t address both issues.
Well i got the Update aswell and i was captain grade 2 before the update after the update i was mythicso explain that and i havent even played the game for months before i received the update

There was a thread a month or two ago(possibly longer, I forget) that said somebody spoofed the servers and added a bunch of Cr to some accounts. No worries though, rank means nothing in this game so it will not affect you at all. As the 343 employee said above this update for the 1 was strictly to improve their services so the only effect it should have had was possibly making this BC title run more smoothly.

Not really relevant to this topic, but if you’re on Xbox then you’ll get Multiplayer, Forge and Theatre for free. Campaign and Firefight are a separate purchase costing $9.99
For PC you buy the full game and it costs $9.99
