So, I’ve started playing Halo Reach on my XBox 1 console and I’ve started remembering why I loved the game so much. When the Halo 5 trailers came out, I was stoked with the gameplay for both Fireteam Osiris and Blue Team. However, after watching and playing the Halo 5 campaign, I couldn’t help but feel somewhat cheated/let down with how the story turned out. But this is my personal opinion.

So please, feel free to describe what you liked/disliked about Halo Reach and Guardian, and share why each game was better/worse than the other.

Pretty sure everyone that saw the pre-release stuff ended up being disappointed in the story. For once, I feel the community was actually united in an opinion there.
With that being said, I enjoyed PLAYING the Halo 5 campaign, even if the story itself wasn’t worth the awesome music they produced (The Trials, damn that was a good tune)

Same with Reach actually. I wasn’t all that invested in the story (Felt too rushed I guess?) but the gameplay was mostly enjoyable. I’m an odd one in that I loved all the games almost equally and rather than saying one was better or worse than another, I feel they all brought something I liked to the table while also bringing something I might have liked more in a different game. CE, 2, 2A, 3, ODST, 4, 5… Wars and stuff? I loved them all.

I can say which ones I liked the most in a certain category though; like 2A and 5 were my favorite multiplayer experiences whilst 4 was my least favorite, Halo 4 and 2 had my favorite stories while 5 was my least favorite… Campaign gameplay-wise… Real toughie there. I actually loved them all almost equally. Best music? Probably 2.
Weapon selection and assorted goodness? 4 and 5. Art design? 2 Anniversary and Wars 2. Infinite’s looking pretty sweet too though from what little we’ve been able to see so far.

Well I feel both campaigns weren’t that great. It’s a coin toss on which was “worse” IMO. I just don’t like having friendly AIs because they just aren’t that good and I don’t like that feeling of baby sitting them essentially. They get in the way more than help most of the time.

Multiplayer is kinda the same for me as campaign. I feel Reach had the better maps (especially when comparing to H5 arena). But I did like the more competitive feel of H5. Both had good and bad weapons overall. I guess I do prefer Reach a bit more just because the maps are better and I do love the real needle rifle and not that carbine wanna be needle rifle. Reach did feel more rewarding with it’s progression and armor system than the H5 req system.
Over all I guess Reach and H5 are some what equal… Tough to say which one was worse but neither the best IMO.

Dang almost forgot firefight… Reach’s firefight was far superior to H5s so I guess Reach is better in that regard.

Halo 5 is far superior. Reach was fun in its day but can’t compete now

Both had their Pros and their Cons basically? ^^
Agreed with pretty much everything there, though I do kinda like having AI buds around in most games. I just won’t let them drive vehicles is all… >_>

First-time Halo player finds that out the hard way here.“Who’s gonna drive? Kat you drive!”
<Ten seconds later>“Woah! Kat move! Get us out of here! This isn’t bumper cars, this is WAR! KAT MOVE IT!!”
“I dont’ think the AI can drive very well, just saying… Can we get out?”
<Jumps out, and Kat drives off without him>“Kat don’t drive off without me, Kaaaaaaat!”

A little bit later he gets distracted and drives off a cliff.
“NO! Kat, I am so sorry about this. I AM SO SORRY”

Driving home from work I thought of something else that gives reach and edge… The enemy AI seem smarter and more aggressive in Reach. In H5 they just made the enemy tough by making them bullet sponges.

I just wish Halo would have stayed with the classic games. They should have just expanded on limited use equipment pick ups rather than “armor abilities”. 343 should have built a game more around H3 game play instead of Reach style game play.

Please don’t cross post topics, thanks
