Reach.
However, I love odst for the relaxing jazzy detective elements.
Reach, for sure. I was a little disappointed with ODST, to be perfectly honest, although, to be fair, I only played the campaign. I liked the darker, more serious tone of Reach, and it feels a lot more fleshed out, which makes sense, since ODST is kinda a more fleshed-out expansion compared to the other Halo games.
ODST is my favourite game of Halo. The music hits home, the campaign is different, iconic characters with Buck, some iconic weapons, such as the silenced SMG, and Firefight, which I am happy to see will be coming in at the end of this month for H5.
ODST for me. Don’t get me wrong, when I learned about Halo: Reach, the hype was real. But when I got my hands on the actual, finished product, I began to realize that I was not enjoying the game as much as I had, say, Halo 3.
The Campaign, while enjoyable, ignored the fact that there was already established content (Halo: The Fall of Reach), which took me a while to get over. And when I got past that other details began bugging me. Tip of the Spear is a great example of missed opportunity. You can actually look out at a battlefield that looks significantly more interesting than what you were given. Long Night of Solace was excellent though, and New Alexandria is, to this day one of my favorite Halo missions (Top 10).
The base gameplay for Reach was just unenjoyable. Default run was super slow, jump height was borderline non existent (compared to other Halo games, ODST included), Armor Abilities were horribly done (Camo and Armor Lock? Those are called power ups, you’re supposed to fight for those, not start with them.)
And then Bloom. Holy crap Bloom. To this day I have yet to understand why this was EVER a thing.
ODST was different too, for sure, but it still had a Halo feel to it. Reach, well Reach just felt different, like they were making the game and were like “Oh crap! We forgot to add the Halo part!” And then kinda tossed it in last minute.
I’m not sure, I loved halo reach’s multiplayer and forge but ODST 's art style was great and the firefight
Reach and ODST are both my favorite games but I like the characters in reach better than ODST so I vote for Reach. Hard choice though.
Why compare the two? The only thing the two games have in common- aside from being spin-offs- is that they both have Firefight.
If you were to ask which iteration of Firefight I like better, it would have to be Halo: Reach. Halo 3: ODST’s Firefight may be more challenging, but it’s also more repetitive with the lack of customization options.
well ODST wasnt a full game. no competitive multiplayer. but it had much better story and firefight than reach
This is probably the hardest choice I’ve ever had to make for two reasons, 1) they are both two of my favorite games 2) they are next to nothing alike.
but if I had to chose, it would be ODST for the atmosphere, soundtrack, and story. I also really enjoyed that you are a vulnerable marine who doesn’t have indestructible armor and you don’t have super human strength.
Despite this, I fully enjoyed each game and play both of them for an equal amount of time.
Reach all the way!
Remember reach!
I enjoyed both of the games but I pick reach because of amazing multiplayer and forge experiences I got from it.
Halo Reach all day
remember reach
It’s really hard for me to say, but i’d have to choose Reach overall, even though ODST’s campaign is one of my favorites.
I would have to chose reach, but they are but very good games.

I’m not to sure about that one, The story of Reach is the 2nd best story (Master Chief=1) Halo Reach got you attached to characters then took them away
both games are epic
but I like more reach
