This has probably has been discussed lightly before, so I’m going to post it here anyways.
Okay so by now, most of you realized that Halo Reach is terrible (not as good as Halo 3, putting it nicely). So even though I know this is probably impossible and won’t happen anyways, but let me ask you a question first. How do you make Halo:Reach interesting again? I’ll tell you. Add a visible True Skill 1-50 rating system to a select number of playlists.
Inb4 “Oh no! That will promote boosting, and hackers, ect.” I mean…who cares right? Halo 3 is still better than Reach regardless. The 1-50 system gives me something to play for (skill achievement), as apposed to a rank EXP based system, which would only prove that you have too much spare time in your hands. If I were to have an Inheritor, people would probably laugh at me and say I have no life.
Halo 4 is coming out soon, 343 has nothing to lose when adding a visible 1-50 system to a few playlists on Reach in the meanwhile. Not even necessarily adding the number to you main profile, but just keeping it only visible when you select said playlist. I’m willing to bet anything that Reach population would increase by at least 10%(maybe even as high as 25%). I understand the True Skill is still there and hidden, but that’s not helpful.
All I’m asking is to at least TRY to implement some sort of Visible skill system. K/D doesn’t cut it, and Arena is a joke.

I’m not trying to save Halo 4. Its not even out yet (in case you haven’t noticed).
I’m simply trying to make Reach more playable for a good amount of the Halo population (including I) who don’t like Reach. I bought a copy of Reach when it first came out and have all the map packs. I’m not a internet troll, buddy. I’m someone who is simply disappointed in the game and would like to see some reworking.
In the case in which a Halo: Reach “Visible True Skill” won’t happen (99.999999% sure it won’t), then all I can pretty much do is hope Halo 4 has it (still going to play it a lot regardless).
I’m just letting 343 know for a billionth time…Halo Reach is bad. Hope the message got through.
For all those of you who like Reach… to each his own.
Im sure COD is fun too (not that I play COD of course).
They’ve done a lot for the game to try and make it better, the TU for example made it telecast bearable. But now with the last MM update in place, Halo 4 about to go gold, and so on, I doubt reach will be getting anymore support of any kind, so in the end your point is probably moot. I bought reach on release day, have all the maps as well. In the end reach will be over in 64 or so days. Hang in there buddy, ranking system or not it would take a company of tards to make something worse than reach, VR system or not.

No. There’s only like 3 or 4 people from Bungie that are now at 343.

To name a few.
Frank O’ Connor (Frankie)
Vic DeLeon
Chad Armstrong (Shishka)
The guy who forged Pinnacle works at 343i now.
I must be misinformed then. I was remembering an interview around the time of the switch that 343i and bungie were made mostly of the same people but I could have misread.

Not only misinformed, you missed the point of the thread lol.

The biggest problem here is that Halo Reach is the past. Why spend time fixing the past when everyone’s focused on the future? Am I right?
Also, I’m pretty sure 343 knows that Reach was bad. One of the first things 343 said about the multiplayer in Halo 4 was that they were trying to make the multiplayer more competitive. 343 is made up of Halo faithful, not the inflated Bungie that made Reach. You wanna guess how different Bungie is from 343, look at the way both companies built their spartan models (Reach vs H4).
