Here’s a place where you can discuss all of your favorite things that Reach didn’t have, but Halo 4 has. Or, the other way around. You can talk about flaws, truimphs, anything, as long as it has to do with those 2 games.
Reach is 99999999999% Better

Yes it is.

Well then.
Personally, I find the combat in Reach a little slow and clunky, and the AA’s are REALLY powerful. People talk about how bad Jetpack, Promethean Vison, and Active Camo are in Halo 4, but you can’t abuse those the way you can with good ol’ Armor Lock.

Not to mention how good camo and jetpack are in Reach.
the only reason I go back now and then is due to the NR and playable Sangheili…that is literally it halo 4 beats out Reach any day…well now anyways (h4 was bad at launch)

I usually go back for Firefight or Invasion. Do a little work on leveling up my Noble 6. It’s certainly a solid game with several advantages, but Halo 4 plays so much better for me.

Ya, I feel you on firefight and don’t get me wrong I am in no way saying Reach is a bad game I like how I still get exp and I feel like I am still working for something but just as you I prefer H4’s game-play to Reach’s

Wait, you’re saying that Halo 4 has stuff that Reach didn’t? I thought all they did was take out(or ruin) a ton of stuff that we all liked and said we wanted in the game.
reach had the best playlist. ce anniversary.
plus the mlg playlist was perfection. upped speed and jumping no aa, no sprint, no bloom. perfect.
i dunno how anyone could say reach was bad with those two playlists.
Halo 4 - Sprint and (with the exception of about 5) Commendations are all more or less attainable.
Reach -
I like the maps WAY better. I was on Adrift and thinking how my better Anchor 9 is, and Boneyard, and Hemorrhage for vehicles, and Spire and … I get tired of small doughnut, big doughnut, and figure-8 doughnut in Halo 4.
Ranking/Commendations - there was a reason to keep playing Campaign, and FF, and trying all the different weapons and game types.
Invasion

Can’t tell if sarcastic or just trolling…

Not to me.

I was telling the truth in a sarcastic way. There really is nothing that 343 added that is unanimously good, all they did was take away from the game.
I was in GameStop the other day, and a brand new copy of Reach costs MORE than a brand new copy of Halo 4.

I know you’re trying to make a point here, and I have to agree with the point itself, but dealing in absolutes isn’t a good idea. The world is rarely that clean-cut.
Extraction.
See? Now you’re wrong.
Well, let’s see…
Halo: Reach - Invasion
Halo 4 - Dominion
Both were good. Now Dominion’s gone.
I guess I’m gonna have to go with Reach…

There are some stuff in Halo 4 that I like, like the forge, but there are a lot of things they did wrong, like making the incineration+ binary rifles being too op
Reach is better for alot of reasons and reason I go back and hang out in Reach more than in H4. My reasons for both games:
Reach
-
You play as an Elite (reason why I go back there. More of an Elite person than a Spartan sorry folks!)
-
Invasion. Reason why is because you get to be playing both Spartan and Elite and with no complaints plus its fun, except for people that spawn kill you. So watch out Invasion has people that will spawn kill you. I took a break from Invasion because of this problem.
-
Firefight. Lets face it. H4’s Spartan Ops sucked big time and I didn’t like it! >(
-
Campaign. The story is way better than H4’s. Even with Spartan Ops’s cutscenes.
-
Theater. Seriously 343 screwed up on Theater for us to take screenshots in Campaign and Spartan Ops. Wtf man! Reach gets the A+ for Theater!
-
Covenant design. Seriously 343 screwed up with H4 Covenant they look like mutants! I feel soo sorry for them ;w; Reach all the way!
-
Lastly, The Concussion Rifle. The weapon is like the version of the Brute Shot in H3, however in H4 it lacks the firepower to destroy vehicles. This in H4 I really hate. Its a Nade weapon. It’s suppose to destroy vehicles and make them flop around. Not injure it.
Halo 4
-
Weapons. The Carbine and BR are classics and I love the Carbine. <3 I also like how they made the AR powerful than Reach is which I’m happy about.
-
Medals. Perfections are hard to get in Reach and in H3 but H4 for me was pretty easy to get them. I’m disappointed though that the Perfection isn’t a medal but rather a commendation here that’s the downside to it and I’m sad about it

-
New Gametypes. Reach didn’t have this because of the community and their great ideas. I love the new Medal Madness and I like to see more new games coming out.

-
Less spawn killing. Reach had problems with spawn killers and it was a pain in the -Yoink-. I’m sure alot here agree.
-
Joining In Game. Much as I have to agree, I love the idea they did for us to respawn faster and join in other people’s games that need help. I hate people that quit only for certain reasons but I see people leave immediately just to get credits. x.x
-
Lastly, New Maps. Halo 4’s new maps were maps we never seen before straight from the books. I love how they put Harvest and Landfall in H4. I get to see what they looked like before the Covenant came. I also love how Landfall shows the Covenant ships bombarding cities. :o
However I have to give Reach the trophy to this because of the story, being an Elite, and Firefight which Halo 4 lacks. Now with a new Halo game coming out, I sure hope 343 doesn’t disappoint us or ruin it. I like to be an Elite again and not get bored and go on Reach.
However wouldn’t this topic be in General Discussion thread and not here? >>
Reach is better because of a few things.
Co-Op matchmaking for campaign and FF.
Alternatives to new/unwanted additions. Anniversary and MLG give Reach more variety. Only thing 343 needed was a NO SPRINT/Arena style variant in Halo 4. Not sure why it hasn’t been done. LEGENDARY SLAYER was a poor attempt and as far from “classic” as Infinity Slayer. AR/no secondary with sprint is just as ridiculous imo.
More creative playlists and customs. Invasion was great and truly brings the fiction to MP more so than the War Games VR training back story of Halo 4. Others like Headhunter and Generator Defense are rarely seen but the fact that they are apart of a long list of modes shows how much work Bungie put into Reach.
Halo 4’s in-game “look” is the best of any Halo. I like the HUD and sport-like presentation. That’s about it. Adding fully customizable loadouts brought in more pointless imbalance that was already evident with Reach’s AAs.
